Concern:

"Fee payment form- permanent residency"(IMM 5620) of my application, "expiry date" of the credit card mentioned by me is "1" where as on credit card it is mentioned as "01". Since the form was not allowing to type "0" as prefix to "1", I left it as "1" instead of "01".
I am bit worried due to the above fact.

Will this be fine? or I have to inform CIC by an email. If by an email, on which ID we have to inform.


In-case, they do not accept any email change and I have to replace the entire form for this error, please advice where it has to be sent.

Please advice.


My application was received by CIC on 22nd May and I guess they are charging 12th May applications, so I have time to sort this issue.

sorry to mention that i applied in 2013 for the same fsw but my application returned due to cap reached.
but when my file returned i didnt have any letter or uci number on file

then i called to cic

I backed up 4+ years for 2171 with all the reference letters and I ignored rest of the years. As per the NOC website, S/W engineer would be the minimum qualification for 2171. I included all the exp, relieving letters for the previous years.

4+ years gives you 13 points.

No need to worry mate. This is how the form has been designed and everyone using CC with expiry months other than 10,11,12 has had to submit this way.
Absolutely no issues with that.

Bro ...the probability of people with 2 digits expiry date (10 /11 /12) is only 25% . The person who charge ur CC is familiar about this fact. So if it is required he will enter it as 01...So don't worry abt it.

I realize that there is no Nostradamus amongst us but I do need to figure out what chances I have if I reapply this year?

I would be able to prepare and send a package by September end. My NOC 2171 already has 157 entries in the spreadsheet. Assuming the spreadsheet to represent about 10% applicants, 1000 applications would have been reached by now. If we assume the spreadsheet to represent a lower percentage (2,3,5..), 1000 applications would have reached by June end itself.

Would it be worthwhile to take IELTS by going into some far off city (to be able to prepare my application in time) and taking all the pain of packing the application again? Or, if this is a battle lost, would it be wise to prepare for Express Entry?

Kindly advise.

Buddy, if you ask me then it is definitely worth it to take the pains to send a new application. In my view the forum represents a much larger proportion of global 2171 FSW applicants than just 10%.

The effort and time spent in preparing the package is nothing as compared to regretting later in life that maybe you had one of the very best chances and could have easily retried. Nobody has seen the future to predict what may or may not happen. We only know at present you have the opportunity to reapply. Worst case in applying would be that you'll just lose the courier fee.

Also nobody knows what will be the criteria for Express Entry and whether any other program in future would have as much flexibility as this one. The decision is entirely yours and we are here to support you in either case.

By the way, which city are you based in?

Canada Federal Skilled Workers Quota for this year 2014 were opened on 1st of May 2014, it's almost three months ...,

Is this is the correct time for me to apply Immigration to Canada?

I heard from a consultancy that nearly 150 applications were already accepted by CIC for the occupations related to my profession (software engineer •2173 •2174 •2171) by this time,

If I apply now approximately it takes two to three months for Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) , next steps takes around 6-8 months if I am correct.
Is there any possibility for the quote to be filled in these 6-8 months mean time ?

as we know only 1000 application will be accepted for each Occupation, base on your experiences could you suggest me whether this is the right time to apply or not.

Dear start collecting documents...eca is valid for 5 years...forget the cap...if you will not be able to submit file(which is not going to happen,i believe)year you can apply next year....
So start preparing your file...
