Hi guys,

I am getting close to submitting my application. It has turned out that some of my close relatives who had gotten their PR in the past, are moving to Canada at this point of time. Almost at the same time I am going to submit the application. Although I am already past 67 points sufficiently, but is it worthwhile (for reasons other than the points) to mention and use adaptability points by submitting their information.

Now, although I will be able to give copies of their PR card and all that, but they will not be having any actual residency proofs like leases, bills etc for a while.

What do you guys suggest ?

1. Wait for some time to have them arrange those proofs, and then apply ? (Not really liking what I am writing here)
2. Just submit my application without using those adaptability points.
3. any other ?

I know I am going to go with point 2, but just throwing this out in the open in case some really important suggestion/comment comes my way.

Thanks for looking into it.

Regards

The best thing for you to do is just go ahead with the current application without adaptability points. There is no additional benefit other than points from having relatives there. However, make sure that you answer the question about having relatives with canadian PR appropriately even if you are not claiming points from them. This is to ensure that you don't burn future bridges and can use this to your advantage if needed at a later time point.

If u are confident that u have over 67 points then it will be better to avoid adaptability points....Ur file will be more simpler...

Otherwise for shortage of the docs (if u go for the second option ), they may ask for additional docs....:)

Good luck for ur app buddy...!

Bank is only allowing 3 months of validatity for DD. But it should have atleast 6 months validity according to CIC. What should I do? Will CIC encash Demand draft within 3 months?

Please also let me know if it could be in Indian currency or has to be in Canadian Currency. I am asking because suppose if I make $550 DD today and paying in Indian currency but when my file is processed there might be change in equivalent Indian amount, so in that scenario what will happen? CIC will get less money or $550 only?

Which bank did you go to? ICICI is doing a 6-month DD.

Do we need to include marksheets or transcripts of our highschool or only post secondary/universty transcripts only?

so far, only one may 9th applicant has "in process" on ECAS. I am May 9th as well. Don't worry, we just have to be very very patient, our time will come :)

Hello Ashif,

What do you mean if some body has just 67 points they can not apply.I am asking because you used the word over.

[size=9pt] Which bank(s) did you talk to? And don't take any DD that has 3 months validity printed on it.

DD in CAD is needed. Don't worry about exchange rate translations / fluctuations as that is for the bank to take care of, not you or me. Bank will have to pay 550 CAD since that is what the DD would say (irrespective of CAD and INR rates at that time).

All banks in India are giving 3 months validity. Any body from India, Please suggest some bank :(

It has to be paid in Canadian Dollars!
