I need to pay 550 Canadian dollars to CIC. CIC asks to use a CREDIT card. I live in the UK, and it is hard to obtain a credit card for foreigners here. Can I use a cash card (MASTERCARD) or debit card (VISA) instead? I think as long as I have enough preloaded funds, I can use them, but I would like to hear somebody's opinion about it. They say that the application will be returned if the transaction does not go through. Thank you.

Give them a Bank Draft, or a Money Order instead.

The best option for you will be a DD/Certified Cheque and it is a sure shot method of payment as it is prepaid. but keep in mind that it should be valid for 6 months or more.

Check the spreadsheet , its normal for CPC -OTTAWA office.

Don't panic and doubt the good things coming at you. People are desperately waiting for such good news.

Celebrate and prepare yourself for life in Canada.

In the medical request email they've mentioned:
"permanent resident visa can be issued. The RPRF will be refunded if the application is refused, if you withdraw your application or if you choose not to use your visa"

Does this mean that they still may reject the application???

Hope for the best...and you will be through...!!!

Thanks a lot for ur quick reply. Current employer is Company A. Will it be sufficient if we submit LOR from Comapny A and not from orther companies in the past 10 years...Thankyou

It will be sufficient but you still should not make any untrue statements on your application. Do not say you were unemployed if you were in fact employed; that is an untrue statement. Just explain why you have. I letter of recommendation.

I had 3 previous employers from whom no letter was available. I just explained why: one bankrupt, one purchased by another company; one too old and did not retain proper records in their HR. You are already getting max points from your current employer so you will be fine, but always be honest!

Of course they can reject you based on the results of the medical report (hence they ask for it!). But if you don't have any major problems, then it isn't anything to worry about.

I understand the difference, atleast now :-) but Please if any senoir/ more locals can answer if I will surely maintain more than $1400 CAD which is my fee amount and also personal cheque is valid for 6 months too so will it be an issue... I mean will they return just by looking at the cheque or after trying???

They might return your app without trying. I have never heard of this situation so I can't say what will happen it my GUESS is they will return it as personal cheques are listed as not accepted. This is just a guess. The only person who can tell you is someone who has been in the same situation.

Hi everyone!

I've been on holiday for over 2 weeks and just returned. I was enjoying family and going places and had no time to read the forum. I'll be back on trying my best to help everyone starting probably tomorrow.

During my holiday I also had no way to check the status of my DD. So first thing this morning I went to the bank and to my great joy learned that MY DD WAS CASHED ON JULY 3RD!!! I'm so thankful for this.

I am only on mobile device right now so I will update the spreadsheet when I am on my computer. Or the mods can do it for me. For the forum's information, I was May 7th applicant in 1112. I also had one of my employer's letters (out of 2 that would gain points) that provided basic info but no duties and an accompanying supervisor letter (not on letterhead) stating my duties. So CIC has apparently accepted this. None of my documents were notarized except my supervisor letter.

I will try to catch up on recent happenings tomorrow. Good luck to everyone and keep your hopes alive!

its a great news!!! congrates :)

And what does this reflect on you , the way you have replied ... Do you honestly think you are behaving like a manager by being sarsactic .. This post I remember you wrote exactly for someone else so what it reflects on you brother ... If one knows certain thing that does not give him/her the freedom to write sarcism ... I said what I have been noticing since last one month since I joined this forum ... Ashif/ Century/Kollins or even you have always come to our help ... I know you don't need to and Even I don't expect it !!

You are a very rude and irritating person period.

My previous company is closed but its CEO has agreed to to provide me required docs. My question is shall i get them on company's letter head even when company is closed now OR shall i get it on A4 page ? Would that be okay to get a doc on a letter head for a company that was closed 4 years back.

Pls suggest.

Good Day,
I am Egyptian living in Saudi Arabia, Is it mandatory to translate the IQAMA and send it with supporting documents ? IQAMA will be expire next Sep 2014 should I renew it now or no need ? I am thinking to send the file to London visa office, I have heard that LVO is delaying in processing the application, is it true ?

Need someone who live in Saudi Arabia to help me, Thank you in advance

Best Regards

I'm also Egyptian living in saudi. .. for the iqama Ihave translated my current and my previous expired one as well in addition to a translation for the stamped work visa from passport... the requirement is to show that you are a resident for at least one year... for the second question I'm not sure if I understood it well, but you Can chose either Cairo office or Saudi which is handled by London office.. and process time for both is quite slow..

Hope this helps

Remember that your file will be submitted to Canada CIC then they will forward it to the related VO.

Yes, PF can be showed as settlement fund.

Thanks Century. For the benefit of other members who are also planning to use PF as POF... find details of Govt of India Circular below:

1. Refer link http://www.epfindia.com/EPFScheme.pdf
2. Go to Seaction 69 (1) C
3. "Circumstances in which accumulations in the Fund are payable to a member"
4. Quote "immediately before migration from India for permanent settlement abroad [or for taking employment abroad]"

The visa office in Cairo is much faster than London Visa office. I advise you to use your country of nationality.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp
However, if you insist on using London as your visa office, you must translate your Iqama, entry visas and all your documents which are not in English or French language, then you must submit a notarized /Certified copy of the original document(s) you have translated
