Saw a post in my fb today. Thought to share with you guys as because many or all you Canada aspirants are in stress until unless you get the visa....

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they'd be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?” Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight does not matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.” Remember to put the glass down".

Nice one...:)

Guys need some advise.

I have used my current job as my primary occupation (2171). My current employer provided a letter with all details mentioned on Document Checklist. However, my employer has only included "BRIEF" job description provided. Following three bullet points were mentioned on the letter in the brief job description section. Can anyone advise if this will suffice and if it matches with the requirement of NOC 2171 Info system analysts and consultants. My job title is Senior Systems Analyst. My actual full job description is sort of hybrid of 2171 and 2173.

- Collaborate with project leaders and teams / network within the business to discuss/understand project requirements and translate these into system process solutions
- Develop company’s Business Information Solutions using the standards defined for solutions work to meet Group business objectives.
- Maintain and report on project plan/progress as required

Thanks!

I will suggest u to take a bit more descriptive Job letter brother.

In that case -if possible u may take it from ur immediate line manager too...:)

Take atleast 80% of the below job (that u do on ur employment)...

My application received by CIO representative Colin in Sydney on 05/14/14.

No, that's not true. One year means one complete year, no less and no more! The number of hours per week required is slightly less than 40...if I recall correct it is 35 hours per week at a minimum to be considered as full-time. Also keep in mind people will take time-off during the year so that is baked in as well (whether or not person actually takes a leave does not matter). Rest I leave it to you to do the math. Cheers!!! :)

And what if the company is not stating the number of hours worked and stating only that the employee has been with us as a permanent employee since 2008 for eg i.e for the last 5 years ... Will it be fine

Hi,

My brother applied under 1112 and file reachd on may 2.. but no per and dd cant be tracked....

I can see that Misha 6th may applicant received per already..... I am tensed would it be rejected or what? but yet we have not received the file also back....or should we wait for few more weeks...

Please comment..

Have you considered the diversity in the number of applications received on a particular day and other days??
Consider 7th May applications.

Yes bro, the calculation includes apps from other days as well, but we can never know the NOC breakdown of the daily applications so the calculation assumes that the breakdown trend will continue.

I have done a little calculation with the SS2014 data.
Assuming the latest CIC NOC CAP list includes all of the 5th of May applications, the safe application received date for the 2 Hot NOCs are:

1112 - June 20th
2174 - June 9th

This is only an estimation according to the spreadsheet data and based on the assumption of the latest CIC list includes all May 5th progress.

Hmmm... interesting assumption. May I know how many applications did2 you project for May 7 to 9. I'm also doing some projections now based in the SS data...

Don't go for any speculation. Shoot e-mail to CIO. Mention full name according to passport, DoB, and UCI (if have).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/next_steps.asp
You will not receive a reply to your email if:

you have not already applied as a federal skilled worker;
you are not authorized by the applicant to receive personal information;
you applied within the last six weeks; or
your enquiry concerns a topic other than your case.

Please do not send the same enquiry more than once. You can reach the CSU at CIO‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry@cic.gc.ca.

DEAR ,

THE BEST WOULD BE TO SHOOT A MAIL TO CIO AND ASK FOR THE STATUS OF THE APPLICATION

It would be good to at least have the word 'full-time' somewhere on the reference letter. If it is on your offer letter from the time of joining make sure you highlight that with yellow highlighter and add a post it note saying "full-time" so CIC guys can spot it immediately. Rest is up to the CIC folks!!! Good luck!! :)

BTW, you can apply to whichever finance NOC that you like as long as your reference letter has a good match (let's say 7-8 points, or 80-85%) with the NOC roles and responsibilities. A reference letter taken a month back should suffice, no worries!! :)
Thanks Bro Oscor :)
