As of now, its 2 to 3.
But if your Appln is getting delayed (Received at CIO) in July.. then you can check 3.

Whether 2yr or 3yr , it doesn't make any diff to the points .. b'coz 2 to 3 yrs - 11 points 8)

Thanks Neel.

Basically this is my current occupation duration ,before 2011 i have 3.6 years of experience as well.
I am confused what duration to select for current one.
I am intended to send my application by 25th June and hopefully it will be in CIC office by 28th June.
So Can i select 3 yrs less than 4? :)

You can submit another record, then the older one will be removed.

An addition from an admin point of view, to whom it may concern: it's much better not to rely on your entry being replaced (as in some cases a duplicate can be created), and to bookmark the edit link for future instead. It's also much more convenient to edit your existing information rather than entering it from scratch.
The edit link is shown on the confirmation screen after you submit an entry.

Moderator Brother,

I just made an entry in the tracking sheet. Realized then I made a mistake in IELTS Band Column. Instead of keying in 7 band I put the equivalent points there: 23

Please can you make that correction. Change IELTS Band column value from 23 to 7. Many thanks in advance....

Fixed.

Hi All,

Any idea if CIC will update their Total Applications Page today?

http://www.canadavisa.com/total-number-of-federal-skilled-worker-applications-received-by-cic.html

CIC generally moves slower than what we would wish or like. The first update was made after a month on 6/6/14. So expect the second update also either in a month from that date, or may be 3 weeks later than that date.

The better to do would be, not track/monitor CIC updates very closely.
Let our anxieties rest, and tell ourself one thing. If we have made an application in the first 2 weeks of May, we should know very soon (within 3 to 7 weeks from now) whether our application made the cut or not.

I would rather read through the next steps in the process, and think more on how to secure a job there with as little out of job time as possible. I am hearing Canadian economy had the worst performing recent quarter in the last decade. URL: http://business.financialpost.com/2014/05/30/canadian-economy-slows-in-first-quarter-as-businesses-stay-wary/

What worries me more than anything else is, where are we eventually going with our families, if there aren't enough jobs available there, for us to really benefit from this migration program..

Hello,

I am newbee here, just got my IELTS result today, can you please let me know if we need to calculate individual module score or I need to calculate it altogether.

Below is the scorecard I have just received :

Listening : 8.00
Reading : 7.50
Writing : 6.00
Speaking : 6.50
Overall Score : 7.00

Just a bit confused about how to evaluate if I qualify the score for FSW 2014 or not.

PS: Help will be appreciated, Thanks in Advance...!!

Listening : 6 points
Reading : 6 points
Writing : 4 points
Speaking : 5 points
Total : 21 points

Sorry man,

If it is going to reach before Jul.. then you should put 2 to 3 itself.

I think you can get 3 + 2 = 5 yrs --> 13 points.
Do you need 15 points from Work ex for your Pass points ?

@ kollins/century/ashifee

is the advice given by me to groupmates is correct
please cnfirm?
[size=10pt][size=10pt]The link(http://www.easygocanada.com/ielts.html) you refer to has this quote "For listening, the IELTS score of 5.5 to 7.0 gets a credit of 2 points".
This 2 points was for 5.5 to 7.0 in listening was the Federal Skilled Worker applications filed on/after February 27th, 2008 BUT before the current point system.
You will agree with me now that a score of 5.5 equals 0 while 7.0 in listening will give you 4 points for the current dispensation of point system.
Yes it was right back then but its no longer applicable under the new ministerial rule.
Cheers.

Don't get discouraged man and don't believe everything media says.....
They wouldn't be increasing caps and limits this year if there was such bad situation...
I've been told canada is a aging country in need of skilled workers to get economy going...
Anyways....god forbids if et all things get worse...you can always come back to your native country.....

Wondering what makes 7th May so loaded. Probably the fact that the average in-transit time for applications was ~4days (from Subcontinent). Most of the people in this forum must have sent their application on Saturday (3rd May) which reached CIO 4 days later (7th May).
again 3rd and 4th may was sat/sunday

so people who sent on 1st may got thier application delivered on 7th may.

I sent on 1st may, it was supposed to reach cic on 6th may but delayed by 1 day.

yes Guys , I appreciate the point raised by AAV..

This is one fight to get Visa for Canada ...but do what once lands over there... once finish with all your savings...as most of us are family person ...so some thing stable must be in hands to survive on...another important factors is freezing temperature most of the time throughout the year...ICE ICE ICE every where....so yes..Canada is attractive but consideration also requires for these factors too ..
