You CAN appoint your brother as a representative. They don't need to be paid. According to CIC:

"Types of representatives

Family, friends, and non-profit groups often help applicants who feel the need for support and advice on immigration matters. You can appoint a representative who does not charge fees or receive any other compensation for providing immigration advice or services to represent you before CIC or the CBSA."

However, if you choose to have a representative, then you would have to have their address in the contact information/mailing address part.

I just explained to him now that its my personal opinion...and not a rule.

Hello Experts,

Bit concerned about claiming proof of relation points..

With regard to Proof of Relation I had submitted birth certificate of myself & my brother. But my father's name spells 'Sreenivasan' in my brother's certificate & 'Srinivasan' in mine. Hence i also attached marriage certificate copy & passport copy of both myself & my brother where it spells right. In my brother's old passport & my passport the permanent address is same & also in his marriage certificate the permanent address is same.

I didn't enclose any extra affidavit for this matter as i thought these things will be sufficient. But after going through the forum discussions i am bit concerned. Was i right in doing what i did or Huh?

I'd like to know the number of points I score as per the CLB levels. My understanding is I get 6,6,4 and 5 points.

I think I got some good news! I just randomly checked on ECAS with my UCI from last year and it said the following:

"We received your application for permanent residence on May 6, 2014."

What does this mean? After so many days of seeing "We were unable to recognize you.." this seems like a huge relief!

Congratesss!!! If it shows In process and "We received your application for permanent residence on...." you are about to get PER. Same thing happened to me yesterday and today I got PER

Hi Seniors,

Need you suggestion urgently.....my wes report has been sent on May 21st and it is still not delivered to me...one huge mistake of my life that i have done is I havent selected the courier option...i have selected the normal mail option...After repeated number of inquiries from local post office, head post office, canada post, i was told even God cannot predict when it will arrive..

Ordering an additional report with courier option is now taking around 135USD...I have made ready my documentation three weeks back and waiting for this report...Instead of this can I send a print of WES report which is available online and send along with my documentation writing a cover letter for the same ? I will send the original wes whenever it arrives. Will they accept this way or directly reject it and adding to this, my category falls under the red hot cake category 2174....

Seniors please suggest me...Do i have any chance to fall in the cap if i follow this...

[size=10pt]If you are reading this,please order for a duplicate copy immediately(its costly ..yes but it will give you soft landing as you will receive it before next weekend.
Don't try to send your application without an original copy as it WILL BE RETURNED back unprocessed.
As for the cap..you have to just hope and pray...and send it because you have given your best till this level already.

Please advise where the DD has to be payable to??? it should be payable to receiver general of canada but where it should be payable to??? Do I need to request that no expiry date be mentioned on DD ???? please advise ASAP

"RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA" is all you need.
The expiry date doesn't need to be visible on it...just let them make it with 6 months validity if possible.

Congratulations on your PER! Do you know whether my status changing in ECAS means that my DD was encashed by CIC? I ask this as I have no way of tracking the status of my DD from Bangladesh.

Hi mp84,

Your UCI is the 8 digit number that CIC would write in hand on your application form. It is structured as 4 digits, a hyphen, and then 4 more digits.
