Dear brother,

1. yes It is ok to take the pictures with head covered.

Please check the below CIC guide for photo spec:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/photospecs-e.pdf

2. Yes u can apply without it ...Submit a cover letter and Birth Cert. also include the relevant paper of ur child's PP application that u have started prep for taking his/her PP ...

Ashif bhai, the pdf indicates that Min. Face Height 31 mm (1 1/4”) and Max. Face Height 36 mm (1 7/16”).

But Guide 7000 indicates measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1”and 1 3/8”) from chin to crown.

Which one to follow?

Brother ashif and / or other seniors,

What would be the format of this cover letter? I understand this is a self declaration. Do I have to run around to get this notarized on stamp paper etc?
Thank you for your input. Looking forward to your suggestion(s). Cheers!

Below is a format that comes to mind:

"Dear CIO Officer,

SUB: Providing reference letter signed by manager instead of HR signed letter on company letter head

This is in regard to my FSWP 2014 application under NOC category XXXX, with UCI number 12345678. I am unable to provide the reference letter for my XYZ job on company letter head and signed by the HR department as my company HR has refused to provide the same. I have therefore submitted the letter stating my roles and responsibilities signed by my manager and have also attached my manager's business card. I trust the letter provided by my manager will suffice. I thank you for your understanding on the same."

Dear Oscar brother,

Century has already provided a nice format....I also suggest u to follow that one...

Good luck...:)

Dear All
Can I mail a request to CIO to send UCI .Do they entertain such requests ?

No they reply back with your UCI..
UCI number will be mentioned in the PER mail you will recieve..
And also they will only reply to your mail if your application had been sent 8 weeks before..

New Generic Application Form 0008 is non printable even after Validation. I have to send application tomorrow please suggest the solution.

I don't want to discourage anyone but I do not agree with the sentence that " Your CC is already charged, which means your application is all good".. If a CC is charged means they have opened the package.. After that they will check all the documents, signatures etc.etc.. If everything is OK then they will send the PER.. If something is missing then they will return the application with new DD issued for the applicant..

No I don't completely agree...they first do a completeness check on all documents and forms before charging anything. ...that's the general consensus on how the CIO operate...after the charge the do an eligibility review which probably involves checking to see if the applicant does have the minimum required number of points (amongst other things)

I'm sure they don't want to be issuing refunds to anyone unless absolutely necessary...hence the notion that a CC charge or DD encashment probably means reviewing a PER eventually

Thanks
