Since special characters are not allowed on the PDF then u can proceed with the manual writing...(although generic form is a Barcoded page...)

My Total family count is 3. So we have to Maintain $18,097

Currently we have 6 lakhs (INR) Indian RS in Indian bank account and 8000 CAD in my husband account (That is in Canada bank account).

Since I am primary applicant, Can I use show my husband bank statement who is dependent in this application with any covering letter?

Yes, you can definitely show your husband liquid fund as settlement fund. His balance certificate will be required; covering letter is optional but will be helpful for the officer.

Hello Everyone,

I know this is a silly question, but when i was filling out form IMM-0008 for the generic application for Canada, there is a section where I am asked for a national identity document. I plan to use my driver's license for this section.

The issue I am facing here - My National Identity document number has special characters such as "-" & "/" which the PDF is not allowing to be typed into the alloted field. So I cannot validate the form until I have the national identity document number in the 'correct' format.

My proposed solution - I thought I should declare in the type that I do not have a national identity document. Once I enter "No" in that field, I can validate and print form IMM-0008. Then after I print it, I can overwrite manually my national identity document number with a black pen.

My source of worry - Would this be an issue as I would do a small amount of manual overwrite on the form? It is a really small typo and I don't think it should be an issue but I just want to confirm with a few people.

Of course I would be enclosing a photocopy of the national identity document so technically I am correct to write the document number in the right format. FYI - The identity is my driver's license.

i think you just need input the number and alphabet character.

I think you just need to relax and wait for the outcome of your application.Dont send another application. The moment it went from your hands,Its already out of your control. If its not hot NOC, you may have the chance to reapply once its returned. But who knows, maybe your documents are sufficient. Just keep yourself calm and hope for the best.

The approaching May 7th deluge has a lot of CIC guys worried; such drastic measures might be necessary as a natural response. Worry not folks!!

Yes its true that birth cert among others is important but as I have said, its out of your hand now. is this a new NOC from 2013? if this is a new NOC you may have the chance to reapply once it is returned.

Driver's license cannot be used as national identity card. If you don't have national identity card, write not applicable.

I have used my DL as the National Identity Document and my wife has used her Voter ID as her National Identity Document. Any problem with that?

But I guess this will not hamper ur application in either way...

yes that was a new NOC from 2013...very much worried..actually we consulted an agency here in India..they didnt even mentioned abt it.. they jst said a self affidavit notarized wil suffice..but nw nly we understood the seroisness of the matter..
