I am an Indian citizen working in USA. My US work(H1B) visa stamped on my passport already expired in March 2014. I attached my extension approval (I-797) with my FSW application which shows extension date as March 2015 and selected CPC-O as visa office. I will however be eligible to live and work in USA after March 2015 also as I will be filing further extension later this year. I attached a cover letter with my application with this information along with USA visa copy and (I-797) extension approval notices.
I am curious to know whether my file will be forwarded to NDVO or CPC-O. This confusion is because as per CIC, applicant should be present in the country of residence (USA, in my case) at least for one year after FSW application.

Seniors/Experts, please share your thoughts on this. Thanks.

PMing you.

What a relief, got a call form Bank(ICICI) saying that my DD has been encashed.

First time in my life I felt good about my account getting debited :) that too in $$$$ :P

So many doubts were there when I was shipping the application package but with the help from this awesome forum members and almighty looking over my app from heavens, finally got some good message after long long time.

Last year my app was returned due to cap getting filled but I never lost hope and continued my efforts to get Maple leaf stamp in PP :)

All the best to you guys who are waiting for CC and DD charges, updated my status in SpreadSheet so people don't freak out on each other in anguish ;)

Extension in PR visa is next to impossible, here is a similar discussion the forum

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/permanent-resident-visa-valid-date-extend-t74894.0.html

Solution:
Just take 1 week off and complete the landing and rejoin. Plan it around 7-8th month of visa issuance to avoid any last min issues.

Are you FSW 14 candidate? if yes, Jan 2015 may be little early for medical so don't worry. and even if you get it, delay the process. I mean delay giving the medical as much as you can or sending the docs such as PCC or any other doc which VO asks for.

Taking any time off from military service is not an option...In fact he can not leave the country at all during this period

But delaying sending the docs to the VO sounds like a good idea. ..buys some time

Hi guys,

Why has been the CC charge process is taking so much time ?
Does anyone of you guys have any idea abt this ?

And also i have posted my data on the excel sheet and i do not see my data on the left hand side panel

I NEED HELP PLEASE !!

I want to know is there anyway to Extend the Deadline of the landing ( the Visa Deadline ) ?? because I've sent my documents and

they will probably request the Medical from me by next January, the problem is that I will be serving a one Year in the Army ( Military

Service ) starting from March 2015 to March 2016 .. so Obviously , I will not be able to do the Landing during this period .. What Shall I

do ?? I don't want my visa to get Canceled ..

Please Any help ??
This is almost impossible...never heard of any applicant who has successfully done this.
My advice for you will be to squeeze out one week to activate your Canadian PR status and go back......which might be difficult but it seems that's the only option you have.
Cheers.

experts .. any idea when they will start processing 7th May application.
As per our spreedsheet no one is charged after 5th May for NOC 2174.

Some people think the quiet yesterday was because CIC checked a bunch of applications and are trying to run batch CC/DD charges today. Wishful thinking perhaps, but as I am 7th May I am hoping to see some action soon!

Please go through the below articles for your understanding:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp

Applicants for Permanent Residence
You must select the visa office that serves your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year

http://www.cicnews.com/2011/01/understanding-r11-visa-office-submit-application-canadian-permanent-residency-01826.html

Here are a few examples that will clarify how the second provision of R11 as noted above is interpreted under Canadian immigration laws:

• You are a Nigerian citizen currently studying at a university in Australia. You arrived just one month ago and your study permit is valid for 3 years. As a citizen of Nigeria, you always have the option of indicating that you want your application processed at the Canadian visa office in Accra, Ghana (which is responsible for processing permanent residence applications from Nigeria). You also have the option of selecting the visa office in Sydney, Australia, because you have been granted legal status in Australia for more than 1 year and you are currently living there. It does not matter that you have not lived in Australia for one year.

• You are a citizen of India who initially entered the United States on an H1-B work permit valid for two years. After your work permit expired, you remained in the US without valid status and never left the country. As usual, you can select the visa office in New Delhi, India for the processing of your application. Given your circumstances, you can also choose the visa office in Buffalo, New York. This is because you were initially granted legal immigration status in the United States for more than 1 year and you never left the country.

• You are Jordanian national who was admitted to the United States on a visitor visa for 6 months. After your visa expired, you left the US for 2 months. You have now come back and again you have been admitted for 6 months on a visitor visa. You cannot have your application for permanent residence processed at the visa office in Buffalo, because you have not been granted 1 year of continuous legal status in the US. You can only choose to have your application processed at the visa office in Damascus, which is responsible for processing applications for Jordanian nationals.

That means adding brother and mother as dependents doesn't require additional funds right?

You can't add your mother and brother as dependants on a FSW application.

no sister, just need ur as u r a single applicant.
anyway i hope and wish a very happy life waiting for u in canada

At this time she is not a single applicant! She must disclose her husband's information despite their separation and keep CIC informed of any changes i.e. the divorce finalizing.

I don't know if she needs settlement funds for both or just herself though.

I see the following updated in web site ( FSWP 2014)

1.Using the map below, find your country of nationality or country/territory where you have been legally admitted for one year.
2. Select the information bubble for your country/territory to find out which visa office is responsible for processing your application.
3. Indicate this visa office in your application.
4. Mail your application to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada

I am from india, Should I be mailing the application to Sydney or nova scotaia canda
