I have a quick question....How long does it take for PCC if one applies from India? I have applied for FSWP 2014 and my application is currently at CIO office (NOC 2174). It reached CIO on 26th May'14. Would you recommend me to apply for PCC now? Or can i wait for the timebeing (till i get PER)? I have included my wife and newly born son in my application. So do i need to apply for PCC for them as well eventhough i'm the principal applicant?

There are 2 ways to get PCC: either through passport office or directly visiting through Police Station.

I directly visited Police station. After my application submission, i received PCC in 2 weeks(New Delhi).

I was in the same boat a couple of week back. I was ready with the applications and was about to file them on 2nd May'14 when i gotta know that my wife had delivered a baby on 1st May'14. I told the same to my consultant who (after congratulating ofcourse!!) said that i had to arrange for the baby's birth certificate and passport before filing our application. If not done then this would result in "concealment of info" as per the Canadian authorities and my file would be rejected. Due to this,i ended up sending up ma file (NOC 2174...the hottest NOC known so far !!) to CIO on 20th May'14 which took another 6 days to reach. Finally it reached CIO on 26th May'14.

So please check with senior and members who have filed their application through immigration consultants. My intention is not to scare you but since this is something very critical (PR visa), the best thing would be to ensure that the documents are in place. I'm also not trying to say that the members in this forum donot know about the documentation requirements but just asking you to double check with someone who's in this industry (visa, immigration etc)

I was only able to see my update on ECAS after almost 2 weeks!
Relax......it will be updated....possibly around Tuesday next week.

I have forgot to mention secondary applicants New Zealand student visa rejection in Supplementary Declaration Form. Would that be any problem, can we tell CIC once our file gets in CAP, as i have already sent my application. Please suggest me over here.

My advice is to get PCC ASAP. It should be ready when they ask for it.
However PCC is valid for 1 year. As per CIC it should not be older than 3 months at the time of applying.
Apply for yourself and spouse only. Sometime police verification takes time. pls start procedure.

My feeling is that you will be safe.

Hey, attestation is not mandatory. Doing attestation by doctor will not invalidat the copies. There is zero chance for rejection for this reason.

Yes, I think you should do it.Once your file reached VO, revise her form and send it to them along with a covering letter that inadvertantly it was not mentioned.

I had applied for PCC last week.
Your spouse should be present in passport office for her PCC.
If her passport's police verification is done within few months back, then they will give PCC on spot.
