- 30% is too risky in my opinion. Unless you have other reference letters from past experience(s) to claim the points you need for eligibility.
- Hence I would recommend you send an updated version of LOR as an additional document.
- DO NOT send self-sworn affidavits. It is HIGHLY recommended that you send the updated LOR on Company Letterhead as well just as the initial LOR.

Thank you very much for your quick response to the query.

As I am working in one of the large organization in the field of mechanical engineering, I have specific responsibilities. We all know that it will be really tough for me to get a letter from the organization mentioning the duties which I really don't perform.

Anyway, I am pasting the duties of a mechanical engineer as per the NOC requirement and highlighting the responsibilities with red color which are included in my letter.

Request all seniors to give their opinion on it.


Main duties


Mechanical engineers perform some or all of the following duties:
Conduct research into the feasibility of project delivery, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems
Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems
Design power plants, machines, components, tools, fixtures and equipment
Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures
Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems at construction sites or in industrial facilities
Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to industrial maintenance crews
Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial construction or maintenance
Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.

My dad was a permanent resident of canada around 10 to 15 years back. He wants to apply for travel document to go back to canada . In case of positive response or negative do i need to do anything.
do i need to inform CIC .

Thanks a lot for your reply. Can you please specify to which mail id we should send the updated form? we have sent a complete application package and there are no mistakes other than this. all forms are signed and all documents are enclosed properly. Reference letters, offer letters, salary slips and promotion letters and a detailed resume have been enclosed. we made this mistake due to misunderstanding. we have prepared a new schedule-3 form, with an attachment describing main duties and also a covering letter explaining the reasons for resending. should we mail it to CIO now. we dont have a UCI number. we sent our original application and was received by CIO on 10th Sep. please advise. I see that few members are saying it is OK.
we wrote in the original schedule -3 form like this;
from to occupation NOC period Main duties
2010-09 till date civil engineer 2131 3-4 years resume attached
1998-01 2010-09 civil engineer 2131 6 years resume attached

he actually worked in three designations in his first company and 2 designations in present company.

Seniors Please advise. I am so tensed. Please advise me

Do I need to Attest my Company's Experience Certificate & Police Clearance Certificate from Ministry of Foreign Affairs??

Both of them are in English

Error in form won't do any harm if other documents are in order .

I have been a silent follower of this forum. Just wanted to share , my cc was charged yesterday i.e. 18 Nov, application rcvd 18 August , ss updated. But strange thing is that I applied under Self Employed category 1123 with 2 adults and 1 kid. I should have been charged CAD 1750 but I was charged CAD 1250 only. Experts please advise.

Hi Guys,

I have just been received birth certificates for self and spouse form local MCD. My application reached on October 9, 2014. I want to send the BCs as additional documents now in a new courier as other forumites have also done with a hope that CIC will match them with my original application. Can you guys please guide me as to what should be written in the covering letter so that CIC can match up my addendum to the main application?

Also i will fax these documents to CIC, for that can you pls let me know the fax number.
