Its your call and no one's view should influence your decision.kishcanada said:Friends from India,
Need you help. For the circumstances I find myself in, I know I need to do my own thinking and I will.
But could you please PM me with your perspectives so that I can make an informed and we ll thought out decision?
I have a globally ranked MBA from the UK (25th rank global Financial Times ranking of worldwide MBA programs, ironically 2 positions higher than IIMA PGPX) but could not make the most out of it as the B-school brand so reputed in the UK does not directly translate to Indian MBA career scenarios. In the hope to have a jump start in my career, I applied to IIMA PGPX and have an admit offer but a second MBA appears to be an overkill specifically given the costs (fee of 25 lacs plus opportunity cost of not working = 15 lacs).
And I have not wanted anything so desperately as I want a Canadian PR. Even if I get a PR, it would of course be a tough ask to find an interesting career but I am very much willing to put in all the effort and get thru' any difficulties. But the IIMA offer has become to good to resist as I can get to a better position and pay grade with an Indian employer and travel abroad on work may be 2 years from now.
I am 35, and work in IT (SAP consulting) for an Indian MNC. Have worked in 2 EU countries (an year each) but feel that I am way behind people of similar age group in India in terms career accomplishments and the level of business leadership roles/positions held. There is no option to defer my admit offer and if I take it with the resulting liabilities I won't be able to fulfill proof of funds requirements.
I am almost inclined towards chasing the Canadian dream but am open to weigh pros and cons.
Thanks a lot for your help and as always you guys and girls rock
Look forward to receiving your inputs and as we share the same dream of making a life in Canada, I thought you guys are in the best position to understand and help me.
Best regards,
Kishcanada
As for me, I am ready to leave behind my well set life in India to start a new life and initial struggle in Canada. Its an individual choice which you need to make and no one else.
