Hi Experts / Ashif / Century

I have a query related to background form:

1) My father's place of birth is "Lahore" 1946 now in Pakistan but earlier in India. His passport also mentions Lahore, but not the country...So on the form , I am mentioning POB - Lahore , Country - Pakistan ( Undivided India)....pls advise if this is good to go. My father born around 1940s in Bangladesh. I wrote Bangladesh and not undivided India. And my mother born around 1950s and wrote Bangladesh and not undivided Pakistan. So I recommend writing your parent's birth place Pakistan only.

2) During my earlier 3 jobs - I have been out of India on 3 occasions for official trips in 2 different countries ( 2007, 2010 & 2011-12). Each trip was over 2 months. Apart from these, there were few more personal / leisure trips to other nations.
Please advise how should answer Q 12 - Addresses of last 10 years of the Background Form. If you remember the address, write all. Else write at least Hotel name and then Town/City, province and others. If you forget PO, keep it blank.

Not sure, If it is ok to mention only my Residential addresses of India during 3 earlier jobs and Overseas address are not required. Mention the foreign address too including all you mention at travel form.
However, I will mention the overseas information in Travel form, but it doesn't ask for overseas address.

Please advise.....just an FYI...Out of 3 official overseas visits 2 were on Work Permit...1 was on Business Visa

Yes, you will get e-mail from CIO, Sydney.

They provided me a DD no with which i can track. I got the DD from Bangalore main branch TC.

Can you just tell me which branch you got the DD from? Is it MG road branch? Is it valid for 6 months???? please reply

Did any one of you include details about your National ID?

Yes, I include and keep the expiry date blank. After printing, I wrote N/A in the blank.

Note our passport got our National ID number. So I recommend writing it.

Hi,
I have seen someone posted the roles and responsibilities in the forum. You can search it. Alternatively you can have a look at the HRSDC website and see the roles and responsibilities for your NOC.

I have a friend who is about to apply for FSWP. He always took his passport with him while his work permit ID card is still being processed. Unfortunately, a water spilt on the visa page although the main page of the passport was not damaged. The question is, can he apply for FSWP and inform CIO that the passport will be replaced? He is afraid that by the time the new passport arrives, then cap is reached.

Apply with current passport. When your friend's file transferred to VO, inform them. Don't waste time and don't mention anything right now - it could make the matter complicated.

I've seen in the forums that the validty for Thomas cook DD is 3 months and some say it 6 months. I called Thomas cook and asked them but they are not giving any proper reply. Can you just explain who had already made into sending the application... pls

The best approach is to use the credit card and the card can belong to your friend or parents and it is the best cause u will come to know when they deduct it and u will be certain that your appilication has gone through initial review.
