Hello people,

I hope you are all filled with great positive energy while planning to the coming future!

I have a question:

Is it fine to travel to a city in Canada other than what you mentioned in the application?
after doing some research about Toronto, we might need to change our destination .. can we do that before traveling? or do we need to land in Toronto for a while first before moving to another places ?

You can land anywhere except in Quebec. You don't have to live where you land.

Just send amended forms & a cover letter including your personal info. and a brief explanation.

For the above statement i got -1.

Here every one are having/talking about the process mentioned in Guide 7000. Beyond that, no one knows what CIC might do. According to the guide, the processing fee will be refunded, if the application is rejected in eligibility check (for PER). But these days, i see too many members saying that, they got a note from CIC saying "no return package and no refund". So it is evident that no one can assume that CIC will work according to Guide 7000. With the knowledge I got from this forum (by following the CIC process/this forum for the past 3 months), i said the above statement to confirm that his application will go through even though by getting 11 points.

We are all here to help each other by sharing experiences. Take these advices, if you want to be cautious. We are not going to gain/lose anything regarding our PR application process from the +1s/-1s ...

Hey All,
I m new member and I have a death and life question;
I and my close friend live together for 18 months (without sexual relation) and have shared bank account since 2011.
Both of us have ex-wife and officially divorced: me almost 6 years ago and my friend almost since his officially divorce 18 months ago.
According to CIC definition we are common-law partners, my question is whether it is any question will be raised by officer regarding our current relationship as two males had ex-straight relation and probably reject us?
P.S: also we did not have any shared travel abroad during this 18 months. Is is a matter?

You are NOT common-law partners. Common-law partners are sexual partners and present themselves as a romantic couple. Having a roommate is not having a common-law partner.

You cannot be a dependant on your friend's application, nor can he be a dependant on yours.

Hey Sujith when you had sent PCC to NDVO office? after how many days you received your medical?

I sent PCC on 15th Sept on my own without the VO asking for it and got my MR on 26th Sept. Don't think they is any relation though.

No, you can't land in Quebec. You can live there after landing though. Suggest not to use a Quebec address as the mailing address for your PR cards, but I am not sure if that would really matter.

Is it possible to apply U.S PCC before completing 6 months stay ? (ie 5 Months getting over now )

Our MR & PCC request expected around Nov 15th to 20th.

I Understood it takes 12 weeks /3 Months to get PCC from FBI (As per forum members ). It will be delayed to get.

Pl suggest

You don't need Pcc if you stayed less than 6 months

You are common-law partners only if you guys have gotten into a legal bond like marriage or else it's conjugal relationship, Without a physical relationship it will be hard to prove to be in a relationship in either, also CIC will evaluate if your same-sex marriage is legally recognized in the place where you were married, Generally, you must give CIC proof that your marriage is legal or authentic. I think you need a detailed professional counseling on this subject to work your case out with all your options open.

Common-law relationships by definition are not legally formalized. Canada will recognize a bona fide common-law relationship of at least one years' standing, including a homosexual one, even if it is not legally recognized in the country of origin. However the question posed was about two men living together in a non-sexual relationship, a.k.a. roommates. This is NOT a common-law marriage and they cannot claim one another as dependants.

Generally interview calls are after AOR. Which means its just before the MR.

I have a question regarding company's official seal , our company letterhead is in both English & our Language...but their official seal is only in our Language ...I wanted to give a letter in English ,but some people say if I want English reference letter, the official seal MUST ALSO BE IN ENGLISH ? is that true?
