Certainly didn't feel like that on the forum.. Now I am scared for 2171.. Its between my personal realistic and pessimistic estimation ..

YES, 10th is valid document for BC, especially from the subcontinent, but NOT Passport.

We need to be mindful of the fact that Indian legislation and legalities may not apply to other countries. What CIC might view as legal may not be legal in India, like self declared affidavit for birth. At the same time what is legal with India may not correct with CIC. There is no way of tell whether CIC accepted 10th standard or Passport as proof of birth when they judge a case. So, how can one come to a conclusion which one is being accepted? Just building a case, please try and help me with any facts you might be having. This will help others as well.

YES, 10th is acceptable. If notarized more than meets the BC needs. Affidavit from Parents if added is credible. Self affidavit for BC in those cases I guess would have served no purpose.

I am 7th may applicant too , CPC - ottawa. PER on Aug 11th ..waiting for MR....

It's way too late to apply under 1112. The cap will be reached once CIC finishes processing applications received in late June / early July.

Actually it's clearly stated in the CIC website the following sentence ( The number of complete federal skilled worker applications received since May 4, 2014 is an estimate.)

So the last update which is 15.09.2014 represent an accumulative sum of all completed applications received from 04.05.2014 up to 15/09/2014.

This is my view.

They may adopt a new strategy to Check the Completeness of all Applications received up to date, (While pending the Money Charge process in the order of applications received date) Why??
this way they can announce when a specific cap is fulfilled, so that they don't expect to receive more application for the fulfilled cap, i.e. please don't send your application as your cap already closed.

Good point. NDVO requests for 10th Certificate with PARENTS name in it in case Birth Certificate is not included with "name". I don't have direct reference input for any other Canadian VO in this regard.

But, since for Green Card processing, in similar case, the US authorities insisted on parents AFFIDAVIT and not self...I was generalizing for Canada. I agree, could be completely wrong.

Yes I am planning to submit now. i thought the CIC Cap figures were up to date. But I realised that most ppl applied in May and there is huge backlog. Pointless to apply now. Lets hope rules dont change in 2015

Right then, i am going to bite the bullet and say this. I have not provided my 10th standard and birth certificate. But, provided self affidavit and also my pan card and passport in support of this. Let us wait and see when I will get rejected or not and for this reason.

I have know cases, by names, who didnt submit either 10th standard or BC, but purely went through on the passport, not even self affidavit. I rest my case till there is a final decision in my case.
