Hello everyone,

I believe there was a guide/FAQ for Canada immigration somewhere on this forum. I am not exactly sure if it was on this forum or somewhere on the internet, but if anyone of you have a link to a FAQ or guide then please direct me to it.

I just want to know what to expect after getting PER mail.

They search Linkedin profile !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means they may search the social network profiles too.

Thanks brother for sharing.
Of course. You think they're not going to google you and check the major social media sites in your country? It's a treasure trove of free background check information.

Do we need to get our reference letter on a A4 size paper?
A4 size is defined as 210mm × 297mm OR 8.27in × 11.7in

Some people are selling inexact sizes, so beware and carry a vernier with you when going for purchasing the paper.

Hoping it made you laugh more than go crazy, the size doesn't matter my friend. Just get the letter on a simple, routine paper size used at your place and attach it with your application.

All the best.

a great lesson for everyone, but as other respected members already said, no one must hide anything when applying for immigration, when they ask for your work and educational history, provide them all the details, no matter u r physician and applying for chef or electrician and applying for artist!

hiding anything for even no reason is treated as a crime not only in these countries but in ours as well. for us that might be nothing but for them its a serious matter. that rejection was inevitable, I feel sorry for the brother and appreciate the lady who conducted that interview and ask so many questions still to clearify the case but its was already doomed!

also a great lesson that don't make ur self public on the internet, use only those things which u can manage and handle, nowdays its a craze to make profiles on every where. giving your own information everywhere makes u an easy target. due to these issues and other privacy issues I only maintain fb and twitter profiles with very limited info in them. the less ur share on internet the more protected u r. but if u hide anything from these authorities then u r in serious trouble.
Exactly. FWIW I am not on ANY social network.

Reference letter is to be written on company letterheads.

If taking letters from someone who has seen you performing your duties at the same workplace , then you can have it written on a piece of paper.

In all cases, why would you consider having your letter written on any other sized paper other than A4?

guys I want to have some saying from the senior members to share the info for my self as well as other as many people are concerned with some of these things.

I would like know that what are the circumstances that might put you in trouble after your files reaches VO? like I know if anything goes wrong with the police clearance or security checks then its a straight away rejection and ban, but what about other things?

if some things are found up & down or incomplete or not verifiable like bank statements, family details, educational details, employment details, official ID documents, e.t.c. does any of these things make any possibility for rejections?

do we just sit and relax and wait for MR or should we be worried about anything? and is true that waiting for MR is as tough as waiting for PER :D !

thanks
Yes. If they try to verify things and they can't, and you cannot provide a convincing explanation why, that is exactly the sort of thing that will lead to rejection at the local VO stage.

We checked with our bank and found out CC is charged.
May 21st applicant.
NOC 2173
Charged date : 27th Aug.
Billed date : 29th Aug.
All the best to everyone.
Finger crossed for next step.

Thank you everyone in the forum.
FYI, I sent a package to CIC on 21st Aug to amend 2 minor errors on my previous application forms. According to the courier, they received on 25th.
Not sure if they replacement our application with new forms.
But we do receive a good news from them.

Good luck everyone.

Hi again,

Regarding having copies notarised, if I want to send original copies where they ask for copies (as they are free to replace) instead of copies, I presumably don't need to notarise them. Has anyone done this before, as I'm worried that any un-notorised documents will be rejected out of hand, even if they're originals? ??? ???

Thanks
By "original copies" I think you mean originals? I suppose there's no problem sending originals rather than copies except if the documents need to be translated in which case you must follow the Guide exactly.

If you don't need translation, you do not need to notarize any document. Many people send plain copies without notarizing and are already living in Canada.
