and what that link which says check ur application status,what does that give?
I know i hv just dispatched my courier, but damn the butterflies in stomach

Dear guys,

I have a few doubts

1. In the settlement funds section, it is shown the amount of funds need as per the number of family members. Now for 1 family member, it is $11,824. Does this mean the principal applicant+one family member such as spouse? Or it means only the principal applicant?. Can I consider this amount correct for myself as the principal applicant + my spouse?

2. Is this amount in USD or CAD?

3. Should I show the funds after converting them to the required currency or providing a balance statement from the bank in which the funds are stated in Indian Rupee is OK?

4.My Surname/Family name is Valiyaparambil as per passport, where as in most of my school certificates and job experience letters, the same is abbreviated as VP. Will this be OK?

5. My father is deceased. His date of birth as per passport is 1/1/39 and as per his Military service record, it is 14/07/39. Is it better to give the dates as per passport?

6. Which authority can provide us with a proof of our assets and liabilities in India? Is it a Chartered Accountant?

Hi Riyavisa (you are not on the SS?) You won't get an email from CIC confirming receipt of application. Your courier notification serves as your confirmation. ECAS -- https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/ECAS.jsp to check the status of your application using your UCI which you get in your PER email.

Congrats Canadian Mum! - pls when was your DD charged and when did you observe the ECAS status change?

I was not able to check when my DD was encashed but i observed the ECAS change yesterday...

Hi, I did WES last year and used it this year. Got my PER without a hitch so far. No additional ask in my email box (gave my ID) from WES. Not sure why the consultant needs it now after this guy's fee has been charged. Doesn't sound right to me!!! Unless others can point out a flaw in my assessment...should not need to pay fee to WES post fee being charged by CIC is my take!!!

Was your WES processed online? mine was sent by courier. You said you gave your WES ID, I think they must've verified your WES report through your ID. BDW do you know how much you paid for WES assessment?

How about Mutual funds??? They are liquid more than stocks right?

Assuming they are publicly traded, yes mutual funds are liquid and acceptable POF.

Here is a query.. my wife's passport will be expiring in 2016 and am planning a reissue of her passport to modify personal details etc. Can I go ahead and do it.. I had submitted her current passport while filing pr application..

When I receive pcc request from ndvo, can I send her new passport's copy along wth it stating that her old pasport is now cancelled as we wanted some modifications in her passport..

Also I have to send my kid's passport to them


My brothers please provide your valuable inputs..

By the way with regards to reference letter, do I really need to have it on a company letter head?

Also, my former manager didn't reply to my request, my only chance of getting a reference letter is through a colleague who has joined the company the same time I started my work from the same company. Fortunately, she is still connected with the same company and may be a senior now. Do you think she can attest for my duties and responsibilities? We have almost the same work but I have more technical work than her.

Someone who was actually your supervisor is better, but if that's not possible, and this colleague knew your duties, and can explain how she knew your duties, you should be fine.

Your reference letter should only be on letterhead if it comes from the company or someone authorized by the company. If it's a personal letter such as from that colleague it should be on plain paper.

I am about to re-apply(my application was returned for self declaration of job description).I need information on which Visa Office to choose from I am now in Ontario Canada as a Student.

I will appreciate a prompt response from the elders on this forum.

If you've been legally admitted there for a year you can choose CPC-Ottawa.
