Don't be too surprised when you find out that a May 20th applicant is getting his/her application reviewed. Here's how I think CIO operates. They have dedicated officers who handle one or more NOCs. For example, there could be a few officers who just review NOC 2174 or related occupations such as NOC 2173, NOC 2171, etc. I think the reason why the mechanical engineering applicant who submitted his application on the 20th of May is getting his application reviewed compared to a NOC 2174s whose applications are in the first week of processing is because the low volume of applicants in the mechanical engineering category.

Hence, I anticipate an applicant in the petroleum engineering category who, for example, submitted his application on the 20th of July will get his/her application reviewed fairly quickly.
I don't think this is true. How does CIC count the global 25,000 cap then? And why are all PER's received so far for May's first half applicants regardless of the NOC?

My consultant emailed them and they replied in 8 days :) :) :)
e-mailed who about what? If the standard e-mail address about a case inquiry, that's an extraordinarily fast reply. And is evidence against the notion that having a representative does not help your case.

Hi All,

I have one doubt. There is one section in "Generic Application form"..

Have you ever used any other name (Eg: Nickname, maiden name, alias, etc.)

I have my husband's name as my last name in my passport. In my birth certificate, it is simply "Annie". There is no last name in my birth certificate. So what should I write here.

Please help.

Thanks
Yes, as it specifically asks for maiden names to be entered here, you can enter the name you used before marriage.

Ur school/college certificates must be having different surname and passport name would be different
So mention ur maiden name as it's given in ur school certificates

Hi Friends,
Not long back I decided to apply for FSW this year and now I am almost ready., but need some help from the experts before I complete the application.
I have been in US for around 4.5 years, so I understand that I have two choices for Visa office, either CPC-Ottawa or New Delhi.
Now I am stuck in a dilemma. Since my GC has not been filed yet, I am not sure if I'll be in US or somewhere else when I exhaust 6 years on my H1.
Could you please give your valuable suggestions as to which Visa office might be a better choice.
I know the following facts based on which I'll decide, please add any more information you have :
1) Once I apply to one VO, under no circumstances are they going to transfer my case due to my location change.

2) If the VO needs an interview, I have to anyhow show up at the VO that I applied for.

3) If I am in US and I apply for New Delhi, I would not be able to send my(and family) passport by courier. I will have to physically be in India and wait there for a good 4-6 weeks for stamping.

Please help guys.
Thank you very much.
Definitely choose CPC-O, no way it will take more than the 1.5 years you have left on your USA visa.

Hello

I submitted my application under FSW category ,without PCC in May 2014 since I did not have it then. I have not recieved any communication from CIC so far. Should I send my PCCs or should I wait till I get a request for it.
Also, I want to block (for a security reason) the credit card, details of which I had submitted to CIC for payment. Is there any way I can change the mode of payment given that i have not heard anything on my application so far.

Thanks in advance

We know this isn't true, as all NOCs are getting charges and PERs together, in order by application received date.
Hey all. I also think that regarding the 20th May issue- there are dedicated officers to check specific NOC applications (for example for IT specialists, finance/accounts, medicine related etc). Most NOCs are not general, but have specific lingo and terminology. So it does make more sense to have diff teams catering to diff NOCs speciality-wise. Ergo, some not so hot nocs might see a jump in processing dates than those with a longer queue at cic. Other than that, i can't comprehend why there's a 5-6 day jump between processing dates.

Or it may just be my wishful thinking as i belong to a cold noc -0013- and would like to hope for a faster cc charge than my current 19th june estimate of october/november. ;)

Cheers.

Hi Seniors,

Does CIC give any commitments on Maximum time it will take to process the application.
i.e from application received to PR received.
or any idea what was last years average.
I know it would depend on individual VO/NOC etc but what is the Mx time it take to get PR if everything goes alright.

Regards,
Arjun Singh

Thanks guys..One more thing, in my birth certificate, education docs, it is simply "Annie". I had no surname before marriage in educational docs. But when I worked, I put my initial as last name. Can I use the same here in the "Family Name" field.

No commitments from CIC on FSW 2014.

But things will change for 2015 express entry.
