So if you declared more than required settlement funds for FSW, then does it become an obligation to carry all of that with you to Canada?
NO

While I appreciate humor, some of these posts sounds rather insulting.

I do not see how that bit of HTML code can cause whole page fail to load. I had issues with several pages as well, including some of those on which I did not have any posts. If my code that is breaking the page, then it's poor programming by the forum developers. I have had many posts on many pages, all of those I've checked are loading fine for me now so may be it was temporary glitch on the server. Whatever it is, I do not wish to act in response to insulting posts. For those who follow American date format, I'd like to clarify, 911 in the UK date format means Nov/9 (or 11/9 in US date format)!

I agree with you Jaxon. No one has right to insult anyone! Everyone has a right to express his/her views.

1. I don't know, but I have never seen anything indicating that it is. Sometimes applicants from certain countries receive extra scrutiny, but Australia isn't one of those countries.

2. CIC generally asks about your history in the past 10 years. But if they have some reason why they want to ask about your life from Australia more than 10 years ago, I suppose they will ask, and you will need to be forthcoming about it. By the way, the PCC requirement is since age 18, not only for the last 10 years, so you are going to have to get a PCC from Australia as will your husband.
thanks :)....

Yes I agree too. Oscar7 - if you are mindful of your tone and language while advising people here, I think that would be appreciated a lot.

my HR is giving me a basic relieving letter with no details regarding job duties. my previous manager who is now in another company can given me his reference. so u suggested me to take a print out on plain A4 sheet from him. i thought it is better to include a covering letter to explain the situation to the CIC. that's why asking if you could guide me to write a cover letter for this case.
You don't need a whole letter. Just provide an annexure with your Schedule 3 form stating why it was not possible to get the job duties listed in your reference letter from the company (company policy, whatever) and that you are providing a personal letter from ________ to supplement the letter from your company.

I have a question about proof of fund.
As the amount in my bank account is not in CAD, do I need to do the calculation myself, converting the amount to CAD?
Or the CIC will do it itself?
It's not strictly necessary but I suggest you do it to avoid confusion. And also because the exchange rate on the day CIC reviews your application may be different than the day you sent it, as we've been discussing in the past several pages.

What is the basis for your opinion? Any prior cases of which you have knowledge? Any written document or communication from CIC?

Don't say things like this unless you can point to the underlying support. You're needlessly scaring people.
D) Proof of funds

You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.

Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

If you understand what word "must" means, then you "must" realize that they have set out a specific amount for settlement funds, even if an applicant is short by one dollar, he/she does NOT meet the requirement. However, I still made it clear that it's difficult to say anything with 100% confidence, but I'd say there's a decent likelihood of it getting refused.

My opinion is based on my observations of facts. On what basis you think that my opinion is "needlessly scaring people"?

yes brother..now we realise our mistake..but the motive behind the decision was we wont be able to break the FD if the whole amount was mentioned in the certificate...nway no other way..plz do pray 4 us..
Yes, my post wasn't meant as a criticism.

But anyone considering this for the future, should note that there is no requirement to keep your settlement funds in a FD.

So if the amount I have in my bank account is much bigger then what is needed in "proof of fund"
is it not necessary for me to do the translation?
thx
You have to fill out the relevant portion of Schedule 3 in CAD anyway so you might as well make sure it's obvious how you are arriving at that figure.

Thanks for the support! Everyone likes humor when it's about someone else. Humor in this case I think became poor in taste, and pointing out an individual with words like fugitive does more insult than humor, however I did not want to fight or do the same thing that's why I used kinder and generic language and did not point out an individual post or person. Members needed to show some patience and understand that not everyone is living in same timezone and can be on/off line at different hours of the day, and wait until next day.
