Following are Questions for various forms

General Application Form:


Education/Occupation Detail (page 3 of 5): point 2 , Number of years of total education:

Question 1 Do we have to write the number of years we actually studied in our country or what is mentioned in the ECA report? What I mean is I have been evaluated for BCOM degree of university of Mumbai as 4 years equivalent bachelor's degree to Canadian bachelors but actually I have studied for 3 years only so what shall I write 10+2+3 =15 or 10+2+4=16years of number of years of total education.

Dependent section:

Before I ask question let me give you brief information about myself and my residency.

I am staying in Dubai for last two years and my visa status in general application form I have mentioned is as Worker (under employer sponsorship).

I am living with my spouse who is on sponsorship visa of mine (friends in UAE would know this better).

Now the question is as far as my spouse is concerned, I have stated current country of residence as UAE, but I am doubting what I shall include in status column. Should I state her as “worker” similar to my status or should I select “other” and write sponsorship visa
Please confirm whether my selection as worker is correct and please recommend the visa status for my spouse considering the above situation.

Additional Family Information

This form is to be filled by both principal applicant and spouse. My question relates Section A. Here when I am filling up as principal applicant shall I mention my (principal applicant) email address or my spouse email address since the box is just adjacent to the spouse row information details? Please suggest? I have written my own email address please let me know if I am wrong.

Point 11 Assets, Liabilities and Settlement funds:
Question relates to liability, I specifically do not have any liability towards the funds that I am going to show, is it ok if I write Nil as my liability, as all my personal liabilities ( day to day expense) are met through separate account and further have no loan pending in my name in any of the banks.

Secondly what do they mean by Settlement funds, do we have to mandatory transfer this funds to Canada on getting PR. Please suggest.

Point 12. Your work experience Section:


In part b we have to list the work experience individually year wise. Now I have two questions here
One, what date shall I mention in the “to” column, for my current employment. Shall I keep it blank or shall I include the date on which I am going to send my application.

Secondly, What I really need to know is the main duties section. Are we suppose list all the duties that are mentioned in work experience certificate as those are my main duties that I perform. Or just write one of many duties that are listed in the work experience certificate. Please Suggest?

Point 7 Education:

I have written my qualification in ascending order of completion i.e. 10 then 12 and finally bcom since the instruction guide has not mentioned any order as they have in personal history section. Is this order correct or we have to write in reverse order

Point 12 List of Address:

In background declaration form there is a requirement of list of address to be given with postal code. Now UAE, Dubai doesn't have any postal code, please suggest what to mention in the “postal code” column.

Secondly shall we write, address starting with recent address of stay or vice versa? I mean in order from earlier dates to today or from today to earlier dates

Supplementary Travel Information form

Here I suppose we only have to include our travel information other than for our stay in the country of origin and current country of resident. For instance I am Indian origin and currently residing in UAE,

I have only included my travel information for countries other than India and UAE. Am I correct?

1.Write down the number of years you actually studied in your native country.......ECA's years is just an approximation or equivalence of what it's supposed to be in Canadian form.

2.Your spouse visa status is the dependent on yours and carries same weight as yours.You can pick worker status as yours....it's fine.You can also pick others....and write sponsorship visa....its fine....no law against it.This is not case for denial or rejection.

3.You will fill 2 of this form....on your own form as principal applicant,your spouse email address is required as it's on the same column for spouse.When filling the same form for her as applicant,your email address will be written on the spouse section since you are the spouse on her form.

4.If you do not have liabilities ....fine.Just use black pen to write 0.000 in front of the $ currency sign.
Settlement of funds is same thing as your proof of fund.It js not to be mandatorily transferred to Canada but you are expected to have this in your account to settle you down prior to your arrival in Canada.For now,only evidence is required in forms of statements of aaccounts or bank certification is required.On landing,you may need to physically carry it as draft or other forms.

5.For current employment,you can either write the current month you are in now since you are sending your application immediately .Another way is to print it out,use black pen to write "till date".

Write your main duties as written in your experience letter.If there is no space ,attach a sheet to list it.

6.The order of arrangement does not matter which js why it was not given.Best practice is to start from lowest to highest ...ascending order.

7.Postal code address does not matter ....it's not compulsory.....write residential address.
Write the address in ascending order too.........no specific order is mentioned.

8.You have done well......write your travel info for countries other than your native country and your country of residence now.

Friends my application is ready and I have signed all forms in blue color ink, is it fine
Written my name in Hindi in family info next to name in English and in Hindi in Economic class form in space provided.

Simple. This boss states in the letter that he was previously with XYZ company and was your boss. He provides contact information. Then if the local VO wishes to verify, they contact him, and maybe XYZ company too, to ask questions.

i was planning to write a covering letter also for this case. could u please suggest a format?

Thanks Neel! Surely. SBI Canada branch address was stamped on the DD. I searched for that Canada address over the internet and got their telephone number and email id and started follow up. You can do the same thing. The address on my DD was as below. If your DD has the same address, then I can provide you their contact details. Pls confirm.

[size=9pt] Some say preferably black ink, but blue ink is fine too.
Name(s) in hindi at those two places is what is asked, so good.
Light is alright, happens with signature all the time.
Check package thoroughly for any errors etc. and have a couple of good (independent) checkers go through it as well. And then send it. Best wishes!

The address is different in your case. However try this number: +1 416-214-1811 and ask them to transfer to someone who can help find out DD status. Alternatively send an email to sbican@sbicanada.com to check the DD status. Good Luck!

If your other two year experience is in Noc list than six years

[size=9pt] Both might be the same address, one in the form of a street address and another in the form of PO Box address. Just google the phone # / email like Rohit did (can even try using Rohit's provided SBI address) and chase with those guys. Or Rohit can share / PM you the exact steps (e.g. whether he got the answer over email or needed phone follow ups etc. etc.) that got him the results.
