I am requesting to all members and specially Oscar7 to give some input on this issue. I am really in hard situation now. Plz help me guys........ My query is as follows :

I am really in tense situation so that's why seeking your opinion guys. I had applied under 2171 code as Systems Analyst in this year few program. I thought I am falling under 2171 noc code as Systems Analyst but now, I want to make sure whether my chosen NOC is correct or not? My day to day job duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Installed and supported applications on Windows, Fedora/Debian Linux servers.

2. Managed Windows network, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, Fedora/Debian Linux, File sharing, Group policies, Print sharing and their interfaces for the systems.

3. Maintenance of the systems including latest antivirus updating involved in asset-tracking PC and security standards throughout the company.

4. Installation, configuration and administration on high end CISCO routers and switches.

5. Installation, configuration and administration of VPN's and Lease lines.

6. Installation of security patches and bug fixes.

7. Systems health checks for all security devices.

8. Having vast knowledge of spyware, content filtering, spam guard, POP blocker.

9. Handling of major security incidences and identifying the root causes.

10. Configuring Routing Protocols, ACL, NAT ( static and dynamic), PAT.

11. Maintaining and administering LAN network and it's interconnection with WAN.


Please let me know whether these duties are falling under 2171 NOC code or 2281. If this is not the correct code then can I resubmit my new application with 2281 NOC code before getting any PER/NER email from CIO. ur help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If my application will reach at CIC on the frst week of August. When is the best time my Bank Certificate Letter dated? Last week of July or first week of August? What do you suggest? Thanks!

[size=9pt] Brother, Let me ask you this. Understanding whether one's JD is matching a particular NOC is a very basic task. I fail to understand what about this is so difficult? Why so many people find this a daunting task?

More importantly, when one is not able to correctly map two very simple / familiar 'one page English documents' with each other and / or create something that's asked, how is one ready to immigrate to an English speaking country and earn a living there? Is the person not putting unnecessary pressure on oneself and setting him / her for failure then? I believe the direct supervisor will have a tough time communicating with some folks from here (judging by the language used to ask questions here at times). I really want an honest assessment of this, rather than continuing to ask trivial questions as is being done by a few here (this is not aimed at you, My Dream!). People who ask trivial questions here very well know who they are!

Its fine, othrwise if it is too small you can write down using a pen( black ink)

I was going thru the updates and I see one of the May 9th app is returned back in India. He seem to be from India. Regular email should at least take 12 to 15. Days from Canada to India. Per our excel sheet we started processing 9th only couple of days.

It looks like cic has got at least 3 layers of checking. A front team verifies all the required doc and pass to secondary team. It seems this team in way ahead than we thought. A secondary team reviews again and charge dd or cc and final team which issues PER. I strongly believe they are working faster in first layer .

Thanks for reply. I already emailed to them and they replied with 2281 code. That's why I am worrying so much. So now, can I reapply again with 2281 code or should I wait for NER email?

I have 4 years 9 months of Experience in IT industry (but i forgot to mention full time in my refrence letter) and applied for NOC 2174 and my duties are mentioned below. Can anyone with NOC code can verify my duties if these are correct? else i will try to alter my duties and get a letter from my company. (Although it is difficult to request a reference letter from company again and again) Please help and verify my duties

Develops software programs in JAVA and in C which runs on protocols like HTTP, HTTPs, Citrix- Protocol and MQ- Protocol.
Develops Java plugins to customize software products like Apache JMeter, IBM RPT and Test shell.
Create and customize WebServices and Java custom codes using various software tools to test the Performance calibration of software code.
Experience on PL-SQL, Java/J2EE technologies with Oracle as a database.
Worked on software tools like eclipse, Firebug 1.12 Beta 4 / 1.11.4, Microsoft XML Notepad 2007 2.5, SQL Query Analyzer 2.01and Shark.
Monitor various issues like memory leaks, code bugs, database connections deadlock during testing of software code to find the exact root cause and communicate the same to other computer programmers for maintaining the code quality and application performance.

I got this evaluated by my friend,

You job duties match too much of what is given in the NOC list, and almost exactly the number of lines creating suspicion.. you could have used different sentences and projects which in the end should mean the same, with 4 yrs experience you should have mentioned everything u did consuming atleast 2 papers of your job role...4yrs and its too little and too exact.. which looks as a desperate attempt to please the officials without much genuine matter. I'm not saying that u r not.... im sure must be very genuine but the description "looks'' so...
If you want to alter the content and reapply which is a good idea.. do secure the employment agreement in which your job roles should be mentioned for you to sign.. get hold of that and modify accordingly..

This is just my point of view.

GO ahead and apply it.. if you have original IELTS & ECA report asap.. Don't wait for them to reply as it will take long time..
