Thanks for forum members support.

Good Luck..!!

I can remember, u have the first post in this thread after me....:)

So u are an ass. prof of an institute and taken letter from ur corresponding university and CIC accepted that (so fars)!!

Right?

Please confirm us...:)

Good luck..

Please help with 2 more queries:
1) How does CIC do the current employment verification in india? What is their process?

Actually I have worked in 5 different places in 9 years. From IBM (3+ years) and other (2.5 years) i have role responsibilities letter on letter head. Its difficult to get it from other 2 old companies, so i will make statutory declaration.
But the biggest issue is that i am currently working in a department of a Ministry of Govt of India. They will not give detailed roles responsibility letter.
If somehow i get it from a senior of mine on letterhead, will verification inquiry will come to him only or it will go to head of department, in which case that senior of mine would be in trouble. Please explain me the process how CIC does verification of current job?

2) I see in generic form If we choose any province other than quebec, 7 a,b,c section grey out. So if I chose Ontario Toronto as preferred place and as I have applied for quebec in 2013 march (which will take 3-4 years), will it be treated as if I am hiding information?will they come to know?

Is the application fee refundable if the result is negative?

It depends...But at CIO level, for the most of the cases- fee is refunded....

hi ayanami2281,

pls refer to below blog for more info:

http://www.fsw2014.info/match-your-noc/

Good Luck :)

Hi @mkshah, thanks for your response. I already sent them an email weeks back, still waiting for them to reply. I actually believe that my NOC should be 2881 (for this company which i worked for 4 years), however, I just need to know if the list given to me by HR will match 80% to the criteria mentioned in CIC site. I think it would be best that I ask you wise people of the forum since I might be biased on my own judgement.

The reason I need confirmation if this matches 80% is so that I could decide on which NOC to apply for. I have another 2 years of work experience for NOC 2171, but still waiting for the employment letter from one of the company.

Appreciate your response on this. THanks.

hi ayanami2281,

I received reply from them today and below is the exact wordings of the mail...

here, you can see that they are asking about 51% of job duties matching with your NOC.... pls read it in the mail.

Hello xxxx xxxx,

The following is the response to your request for assistance (reference #0000000 ):

Based on the information that you have provided, the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) code may be appropriate for the occupation that you described. Please verify the link below to ensure that the education, main duties and employment requirements correspond to your occupation. You are in a better position to determine whether or not this NOC code reflects your job.

NOC Code: 0121 - Insurance, real estate and financial brokerage managers
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=0&val1=0121

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes are determined by the Skill Type and Skill Level. The Skill Type represents the type of work performed as well as the general industry of employment, in order to easily indicate the segment of the world of work. The Skill Level represents the education required to perform the work. However, the NOC does recognize the fact that most jobs require multitasking or performing more than one duty. As a result there is a 51% rule that can be used as a guideline. Simply put, 51% of the job functions must be contained in the main duties of the selected NOC description.

The final decision for selecting the most appropriate National Occupational Classification (NOC) code is each individual's responsibility as you know your education, skills and abilities better than anyone else.
However, the ultimate decision remains the responsibility of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as they are the only ones who have the authority to determine if the information provided meets their criteria.

Thank you,

Yes... sounds true but cant really say that you are 100% correct but there is something which makes things alot easier for IT people. It was in the newspaper (Hindustan Times) last week...I was informed by my Dad...albeit; I still need to read that news to confirm whats exactly there...
