Follow what is given on CIC's website:

If you do not have a surname on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the given name field.
--
That same rule is applicable on any form you fill. If you write your names in different fields in different forms, then it'll only further confuse CIC.
in the generic application form, as my spouse does not have surname

if I write givenname in surname field and N/A in given name field

My spouse name is coming as

Not applicable.A

will it be OK

Awesome congrats. What day did your application reach CIO?
Thanks a lot,

My application for NOC 1112 had reached CIO on 7th May 2014 at 9.47 am.

Using last years UCI number, I can see my ECAS status as "In Process"

My Master degree is of 1.5 years

so my total years of education is 18.5 years

How should i write in generic application form

18.5 is not allowed

help :(
Round it up. It is not a big deal and for this no one ever affected.

Just curious to know. Your total education is 12+5+1.5. So, your graduation is 5 years. Is it OK?

The field is not taking N/A

then what should i do

can u provide me link to official videos of how to fill forms , it will be a great favor

thanks a lot
As I told you before you can write N/A with pen after printing, the format will not allow you to type otherwise for the "FAX NO" section other than numerals.

Even though the Generic form generates bar codes , its not a problem if you write with pen on the Fax section only , as it is not a mandatory section.

If you notice all the mandatory section is marked by an asterisk * , and bar codes are generated only after those sections are completed.

Alternatively you can leave it blank also . It wont harm you. Decision is yours. Thanks.

Guys, a question. I've been reading up on CIC rules and one phrase that continually jumps out at me is 'we will only accept 1000 applicationts in each "priority occupation"'. What are these 'priority occupations''? They can't be our so called 'hot NOCs', because the NOCs that we call 'hot' are those where supply is more, not necessarily demand by Canadian authorities. But the NOCs that CIC calls 'priority Occupations' have to be those which have been given priority by CIC itself. Any thoughts? Dmitrych, Kollins, anyone?

FSW application process will take around 1 year, You have to leave before your visa expire and follow the status of application from your country.
Thanks alot Zubair , what do you say If i get a PER before expiring my work permit than obviously I will go for the Bridge Work Permit but the situation is my wife and my kid is back home so could it be possible at the time of applying BWP I include my family in that also . In your opinion what do you say they will get approved also or not .

Out of 100s of NOCs, 50 eligible NOCs are priority occupation.

Hi Carpediem

I suppose its the same, 50 NOC categories. There is not further categorization.
They state below on site -
As of May 1, 2014, there is an overall cap of 25,500 for new federal skilled worker applications. This includes a cap of 500 applications from PhD students. There are also sub-caps of 1,000 for each of the 50 eligible occupations.

hello dear friends,
it seems that PERs are going in a turtle slow pace. any idea why?
my CC was encashed on June17 but no PER till now. the ecas can be seen online as in process "you application was received on May 7", but I am becoming anxious.
Same here, though my DD was not cashed until July 3.

I wouldn't say they're moving at a turtle's pace. Even turtles do move forward. CIC has hit the pause button on PERs.

Probably sometime after those 7th May applicants who have been waiting up to 6 weeks since charging... in other words be patient.

Don't be sorry you're not being rude. People coming to post scary comments with no source whatsoever are being irresponsible and downright cruel. Nobody should help them.
