In 2013, they only had roughly 200 processed at the same point, so we are way ahead compared to last year... (yes, I know this year are far more apps, but I doubt that they adjusted their workforce to that)

Last year, there was PAFSO issue. This year apparently no issue; but inside CIO they could have master plan to press for salary hike against increased workload.

I have applied in NOC 2174 category on May 31st.......not received any update?
Can someone suggest where to check the status?
Does anyone have any idea if the applications are already closed by May 31st this year.

Actually, i think maybe they give priorities to CEC applications, as you can see, every week, the number of CEC applications toward the cap will be added by more than 300, while FSW only increases 10 or 20 or something like that. i guess in Nova Scotia, they can only process about 400 applications every week, and they give priorities to CEC applicants. that's why FSW is moving slowly.

No its not like that. Both are different program and both has different process.

CEC: File no is issued on based of Completion od application. No PER in between. File get transferred to CPC- Ottawa.

FSW: If application found complete they charger CC/DD. Then file get in queue for PER. PER takes more time.

PER is the only difference, and thats the reason in difference in updated Cap.

You still have to wait. They are still processing May 8th & May 9th applications. Yours is little far. May be 1-2 months more.

CEC application received are almost 3 times of FSW. Both started receiving applications from May 1, 2014.

Hi All,

I am a newbie here and please excuse me if I ask any silly questions.

I have around 7 years of work experience the comes under the purview of noc 2232 and noc 2173. I work with CAD designs and also write software programs using c++,java,vb.net etc to automate the design processes in CATIA (A CAD software).

So, after checking on internet I understood that the cap for 2232 (mechanical engineering technologist) will take more time to get filled as compared to 2173 (software engineering). As I have just begun with the process, I am thinking to apply under 2232. However, I am not sure whether the job responsibilities ( as listed below) that I intended to get in work experience letter would ensure my application under 2232.

• Creation of 3D modeling and assembling of Computer Aided Design (CAD) engineering design in CATIA
• Creation of 2D drafting (CAD engineering drawings) in CATIA and AUTOCAD
• Review the CAD models/drawings created by team to ensure all standards are followed
• Conceptualize proof of concepts in CATIA to gather the design requirements from the customer
• Develop Knowledge Based CAD templates to standardize the engineering design process
• Preparation of technical documentation and presentations
• Carrying out Manufacturing feasibility study of the CAD designs
• Perform functional testing of the engineering designs
• Creation of Design documentation report
• Generate project schedule in accordance with the agreed timelines
• Discuss and update the stake holders on the project progress
• Mentor and train new team members in CATIA

My questions are:

1. With above mentioned job duties, will i be eligible to file my application under 2232 as Mechnical engineering techologist?
2. If not, do I have time to file under 2173? Note: I can only submit the application in late August or early September.

Plz help me as i am uncertain which noc to select. :-\

Hi,

I am still waiting for my WES evaluation to complete, which is scheduled to complete on Aug 11th. But, I want to get ready with other stuffs. So, i have few question (I am sure not complicated ones.. )

a) I have a kid who is 4yrs old. Do I have submit his passport as well while I submit the package to CIC ?
b) My HR has refused to give me the Roles and Responsibilities letter but I have the employment letter, what is the alternative/option I have ?
