Coorected typo in my previous post. Yes you can enter Canada if you are from Visa exempt country. Technically, you should have PR card if you are coming back to Canada, but as you are from Visa exempt country they cannot deny you entry. I also read it somewhere that a guy from Visa exempt country entered Canada with COPR. He wasn't even asked for COPR. Officer just stamped his passport.future_canadian said:Again, terrific info.
But I was not suggesting using COPR to enter Canada in lieu of a PR card. I was suggesting that someone from a country that does not need a visa to enter Canada can enter and leave at their leisure while waiting for a PR card, while someone on a single entry visa must stay in Canada to wait for a card.
Am I correct?
This is weird! On June 20th, Tony1980's DD got encased, it's almost a month and they're still charging CCs / DDs for apps sent on or before 9th of May! Movement of only couple of days in nearly one full month.tony1980 said:DEAR ALL,
MY DD GOT CLEARED ON 20 JUNE 2014 , GOT CONFIRMATION FROM CANADA AND FROM LOCAL BANK IN INDIA

I agree they are slow, but the first two weeks was a flood of applications. There'll be fewer after that and each day will take much less time to process.Jaxon911 said:This is weird! At that rate, it'd take nearly 12 months for them to start processing applications sent in mid-June!
Me cc the same , best luck to all who have not be chargedjayeshaminnew said:Congratulations to all for CC/DD charges.

It probably meant that CIC have only checked for completeness and his documents were complete hence the fee was charged. I think not writing your native names can be overlooked. But we will only be sure if he receives his PER.Max_ash said:Congrats!!
Just trying to understand your better, you had sent your application on 9 May and then you had sent a package on May24 with some additional docs...... How did CIC link the 2 packages?????
The only way this can be done is if CIC had opened the packages received until May24th.
So does it mean CIC has checked all the packages receied until May24??
My understand for sure is wrong, but can someone help me get this?
Oscar, I did not make any statement, I only suggested that "if" they were to continue at the same rate then it'd take fairly long. I, however, do know from data in SS that number of applications sent on or before 15th of May account for nearly 60% of all applications sent by the end of June. So once they finish processing May 15th apps, we can expect to see double increase in their speed.Oscar7 said:Hi, Actually no, it's quite normal. You'll need to download the SS and understand the # of applications received each day to be able to say that. Try doing that! On May 7th around 168 applications just from us forum members arrived at CIO. But if you look at June end data maybe in 10 or so days that many applications reached from forum members to CIO. May 7th was a sh1t load of dump on them, just like 15 inches of snow dumped after a heavy snowfall. Both take time to clear in their own ways. Look at 'data' more closely before inferring and making such 'generic' statements brother.
