I have created this thread for helping each other --could be anything-form filling up,POF queries,mental support etc .

i am B.E (electronics and communication- 4 year degree) with 5 years of experience in telecommunication. Will you please suggest me which NOC is suitable for FSW NOC 2241 or NOC 2133?

My job responsibilities are as under :

1) Testing, operation and maintenance of telecommunication equipment.
2)Installation and commissioning of electronics equipment's (BTS,Transmission equipments).
3)preparing daily reports of electronic euipments performance.
4) Calibrating electronics equipments such as VSWR meter.
5) Supervising and giving supports to other team members.
6) Trouble shooting of any fault in equipments.

Hi, I am afraid within 10 years I think. And as Century has shared from CIC site it could be in other areas as well, not just in one of the NOCs that are open this time.

PS - I understand you lose out on age points(sorry about that!), but I am hoping you make up some in adaptability since you lived 10 years in Canada, do you? In fact you should get 10 out of 10 on that one is my guess.

yes we get 10 point for adaptability. For canadian work experience and also for my language skills. Too bad only 10 for adatablity

No, you only need 1 year of continuous full-time experience in your primary NOC. You can get points under ANY NOC (even not an eligible one) that is at skill type 0 or skill level A or B.

Examples:

You have 1 year at 2171 and 9 years at 2173. You can apply under either (or both) NOCs and you will get 15 points for experience.

You have 5 years at 2171 and 5 years at 2173. Same.

You are crazy and you have 2 years each under 2171, 2173, 1112, 1114 and 4011. You are eligible to apply under all 5 NOCs and you will get 15 points for experience.

You have 9.5 years at 2171 and 0.5 years at 2173. You are only eligible to apply under 2171 but will still get 15 points for total experience.

Eligibility issue: You must have continuous at least 1 yr of experiences in the intended NOC within last ten years.

Point Issue: Your experiences (within last ten years) must be fall into skill level O, A, or B regardless whether the NOC is listed in 50 eligible NOCs or intended NOC.

The process work independently. The VO later on will request to withdraw one application.

If both proceed beyond the initial review and are transferred to the local visa office, you will be asked to withdraw one of them.

Another question please, last year the visa office for Egyptians was Ottawa, is this still the same for 2014? Also any idea on "real" processing times for Cairo Visa Office?

Hi bosschips, I don't suggest everyone here starts applying to 2 NOCs, sounds like a ridiculous idea to me. In Sternchen's case age is big factor and this might be their last chance at Canadian PER as you never know when Canada, just like Australia, might bar people above 50 from applying.

For people at a relatively younger age we might get another shot if it doesn't work out this year for some reason, in the one application that we have sent. Everyone applying to two NOCs seems very weird to me. ??? It would be somewhat similar to everyone aiming to conceive twins LOL by taking an expensive treatment and justifying it by saying "what if there happens to be some complication in the first child's case" ;D

Now I get it. Thanks Oscar! How about applying to FSW with a pending PNP application. What is your take on this?

Seniorsss Pls help

I got my degree evaluated from WES which has 4 year canadian equivalency which makes 67 points for me.But the hard copies received has wrong DOB and i came to know it is because of the wrong DOB mentioned in the transcripts sent by my university in sealed envelope to WES.

Now WES is asking me to get the original transcripts again with correct DOB and sent to them in sealed envelope.It will take approx 2 months to get all the procedure done and by that time i am afraid the caps will be filled

I have all my docs ready and was going to file my case.

Pls help me to know how much impact of DOB in WES report will make in my case as all the docs which i am sending(Birth Certificate,Matric,Passport) has correct DOB.
