Hello everyone, I found this forum today and i'm kinda surprised with the number of posts or pages (2014 really ) in less than 2 months.

Coming to my query I'd appreciate if members can help with my application filing.
1) Is July too late to apply since there is a cap on number of apps in each category
2) I intend to apply under NOC 1212 Insurance office workers as I've been working as an assistant manager for a Life insurance company however I could not find exact match for my duties in the job description. Has anyone else applied under this category or throw more light on it I work as an underwriter for life insurance proposals and have also processed life insurance claims
3) My education qualification - 3 years recognized degree from an Indian university with BCOM HONOURS and 2 year Post graduate diploma in Management equivalent to MBA in Finance. Can I expect 23 points for this ?
4) i have overall experience of 3 years ( 2 in current job and 1 year in US healthcare insurance) and 1 year in IT support prior to my graduation can I submit my app with overall 4 years of experience and expect points for 4 years ;D

The checklist clearly states that 'Do not send any additional documents when submitting your application to the CIO'.

Just give them what they ask. That itself will be a strong application.

It's not like a smoothie, the more fruits you add, nutritious it becomes.

Nobody knows, just take your chances

your duties must match the ones for the noc

depends on WES, they sometimes evaluate Maters degrees as bachelors, is up to them.

CIC hasnt updated any info about the Cap status ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? Why are they so slow on it. Proper updates can save us from much anxiety.

They just don't care about our anxiety. Its just business for them.

Please advise if IELTS points are awarded per module? Like if L =8, W = 6, S = 6.5, R= 7 then will it be 6+4+5+6 or will it be 4 each for its CLB 7 cos of min 6 band in one module. Somebody put some doubt reg that. Please forum all who know for sure share their views and if possible link where this has bee clarified. Thanks

That means we have to mention the outside contry visit for which we have stayed morethan 6 months continuously......right???

nskatcv interpretation and analysis of syntax is very plausible, but in my opinion its asks for "6 months consecutive stay" in last 5 years. My interpretation is based on
1. A person is usually considered "resident" if stay is more than 6 months.
2. It asks for single From - TO date for each country.
3. I have similar situation, and my consultant was aware of it but he did not ask me to enter anything here (could have been erroneously ignored by him, in which case, i may be in trouble )

In my opinion, go for any of the option, and then explain it in your cover letter with specific reference to this question. This way, if change is required CIC will make it for you.

Still open to interpretation. Wait for other responses too.

Thanks for the reply. NOC 1212 titles include the following

claims adjusters supervisor
claims service supervisor
clerks supervisor – bank or financial institution

As an assistant manager in my organisation my job involves bit of claims service but it is not my core job, "Clerks supervisor - Bank or financial institution" do you think this is also applicable to people employed as supervisor in Life insurance companies.

I'm confused about the classification as the description only says "Insurance" and not "Life insurance", wish someone at CIC would clarify on this
