Can anybody tell me what certification is required to get translation birth certificate from Hindi to English???? What all stamps required or else only notary public stamp is more than enough for CIO. Please guide

Below is a copy and paste of the Instruction Guide [IMM EG7000]
Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
•the English or French translation; and
•an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
•a certified copy of the original document.


Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.

PS - I recommend double checking from someone who has got translation done for birth certificate though

Modified 1 - I just looked at my birth certificate. I have the original Hindi version and an English version at the bottom of which it is certified that it is a true translation of the hindi version. Although both are issued by the government agency that is responsible to issue the birth certificates and both Hindi and English versions are signed by the same guy on the same day (if this helps)

I am registering for IELTS right now.

The online process is asking me to select recognizing organizations to send the score to. Do I need to fill in CIC, Vegerville, or the original test-report that I will get after taking the test is the only thing I need.

LOL I can't tell you how much honored I feel that my suggestion is being put to use right away, haha! Plus you are doing the right thing, just get done with IELTS. Good for you!
It's the latter, CIC is only concerned with getting the original hard copy from you.

Misleading post by the user... it seems he got his packet (via DHL) diverted to a friend in Toronto instead of CIO Sydney. He mentioned some missing documents ... i suppose Supplementary travel info.

(Technically speaking, he's Not rejected by CIO. ... just wait for his fresh submission details)

I am opting for 19th July date. I am sure by the time I will have the test-result (~ 1 Aug), I would be ready holding the filled envelope (with everything else) ready to be shipped, just waiting for this page to be slipped in.

I also have an option of 21st June test date, but I would then be really rushing things up, won't I ? I don't want to visit Canada any sooner than they need be. Lol

All I can tell you is that this is the 3rd year I am applying. When one gets the package back for being late it feels like $hit honestly. I learned it the hard way and I am 100% confident this year that I am not late in applying (last two times the cap was full by the time my package got there; in fact last year my NOC got full the very same day my package reached and a few lucky ones from that day got through while most others didn't as cap was full so package returned)!

I sure can get rejected on other grounds but I can't get late this year for sure. Rest you are best placed to decide what works well for you.

PS - My NOC was the first one to get full last two times.

2. I have been working in my present assignment for 3 months now. Do I need to include a reference letter for this one if my previous role suffice for the work experience in an NOC I am applying to?

All I can tell you is that this is the 3rd year I am applying. When one gets the package back for being late it feels like $hit honestly. I learned it the hard way and I am 100% confident this year that I am not late in applying (last two times the cap was full by the time my package got there; in fact last year my NOC got full the very same day my package reached and a few lucky ones from that day got through while most others didn't as cap was full so package returned)!

Have a question related to birth certificate? Grade 10 marksheet with "applicants name, applicants both parents name and date of birth" - is good enough for birth certificate requirement. The applicant does not have any other birth certificate. The applicant is from India Please confirm and let me know. Is anything else required besides marksheet. Have people successfully submitted the marksheet as a birth certificate? Thanks

But just on a technical note, won't you say that it takes 25 hotter NOCs than mine (4011), for them to eat up overall cap, before I get chucked out even with empty subcap for my NOC. Or in other words

I understand where you are going with your point...and that is why I shared the fact that my NOC was the hottest in the last two attempts, while I understand yours might not be anywhere near that. You might need to consider though this is the last attempt using the current FSW system after which Jan 2015 onwards something altogether new is going to start (I hear in that system demand is driven by provincial requirements, though I don't really understand that yet). I wouldn't want to take a chance on that new system, since even after slipping the last two times I might have a chance to go through this time. Now you might not get that advantage if you were to miss the bus this time, right? Just a thought!

I agree. New express entry everyone's been talking about is all gray area until now. It is therefore wise to put your bets on the 'bird in hand', especially when it seems like the last one around (in terms of logistical experience available).

I am not too sure on this one (plus what do u mean by assignment here - is it like within a job there are multiple assignments and this is just one of them, still within the same job that you were doing earlier?) I suggest I'll let someone else answer this one.
