GCMS QUERY

This one is for people who have requested and received GCMS.

What's the mail received time when GCMS was shared?

I am trying to understand if it's in the Indian or Canadian working hours window.

First of all congratulations


They will do blood tests and chest X-Rays .. I think 2 weeks is a long time plus they don't have any problem with the person who smokes ,.. I do not know much about medical things but if you consider that something will come in your blood test then drink lots and lots of water for few days .. one week is a good enough time..

They do not ask you generally for these things .. they will ask if you had Any major disease like TB etc.

Don't worry you are fine ..

I had my medical exam on 5th March and I haven't had any confirmation yet. Moreover - check application online service can't find my app and uci.

How much time do it usually take to get medical exam confirmation?

you know in medical they will do blood test for hepatitis and HIV and urine test (which is not a big deal) and chest x-ray and doctor consultation at the end, thats it. In your case if you are not currently TB patient , then the chest x -ray should come normal.so , i think there is nothing to worry ...chill

Hi I am back after almost 3 months in this forum!!!

As I have already shared, by almighty's grace I and my spouse have got the most precious immigration visa for Canada in Dec 2014.

I wish everyone here to get a positive response on their application.. I know how it feels to wait.. i used to hang in here almost hours before i got my visa , refreshing my email account every now and then. and Congratulations to everyone whose dream has come true....
I must say all the forum members are very helpful and thank you everyone for all your support..

I am delighted to inform you that finally i got my stamped passport back with COPR today from VFS New Delhi.

Complete timeline below:

App Received: 14th May
NOC: 2174
VO: NDVO
PER: 21st Aug
MR/PCC/RPRF: 4th Nov (PCC sent along with MR and RPRF)
Medicals done: 9th Nov
Third line update in ECAS: 15th Nov
Decision Made: 27th Feb
PPR: 27th Feb
Passport Deposited: 2nd March to VFS New Delhi (in person)
Passport Returned: 12th March from VFS New Delhi (in person)

Thanks to all my dear forum members for a sincere advice every time i had a doubt.

For all my friends who are waiting for MR/DM/PPR/Passport return, i wish you a speedy stamping.

Hi All,

Got MR mail couple of minutes back.

Please advise:

1. Should i wait for 2 weeks to do the medicals as I smoke sometime and just do not want this thing to hamper anything in medical. Relax, drink a lot of water and be on time
2. should i inform the medical officer if he asks for smoking habits. As you said you smoke sometimes, it really shouldn't come up

Dear all friends here,

First I'd like to say sorry and thanks to you guys.
I have been a silent reader for over 1 year due to private reason.
I finally got a Confirmation of Permanent Resident.
My case is a bit unique so want to share with you.

Here is my time line. My application was handled by Manila Visa office.

- Application arrived: May 7
- PER: July 28
- Medical, RPRF and FBI Clearance Request: Aug 18
- Due to FBI System change issue - early December (took about 3 and 1/2 month to receive)
- Requested to fill the from about 6-7 months history from May to present (overseas travel etc.): submitted in 1-2 days.
- Then suddenly asked wife's Canadian Police Clearance: submitted at early Feb.(took about 40 days due to first mail missing, usually take 10 days)
- Decision Made Changed, mid of Feb (They didn't ask information update)
- Finally received Confirmation of Permanent Resident. (early March)
- Plan to land in June.

CanDoIt, can you share, is the address for you Outside Canada?
Mine is Montreal.

Both addressess are my local address here in India. They have been categorized under two different headings - Current and Mailing!

Actually, I would suggest you get a x-ray done and show it to you family physical.
Usually what's checked is the scarring on lungs due to TB and spots.
"A lung nodule(mostly in asian's and has no causes for concerns) is a spot at least two centimeters in diameter that appears on an X-ray of the lung. Spots that are smaller than one centimeter often can’t be seen on a chest X-ray. Spots that are more than two centimeters are considered a mass, not a nodule."

Congrats to you.
Finally NDVO is sending MR's, that's good.

Smoke has no affect on the tests as long as it hasent cause irreversible damage to your body.
I am a regular smoker and think my meds went fine.

My suggestion, dont wait. The sooner you get through MR, the sooner the window of PPR opens.

I second that smoke should not have an effect on your MR, however i would suggest that drink lots of water (that will really help) specially when you get up in the morning. Stop smoking for a while and as RVP says get your MR appointment asap.
