Medicals done on 15th Jan, Venue- CMM, Hyderabad
As for the medicals experience (Thanks to CPR2012 who had given his guidance earlier),- here goes-
Got Slot @ 9 AM but better to reach a little early bcos the rush begins soon thereafter. At one place, applicants for Aus/Canada/US/ UK r doing their medical testing for student/WP applications/Family Class and PR applications etc....So u can imagine it can get crowded...
1. They took my IME1017, and PP Copies and asked me to fill up a form
2. Reception staff redirected me to another room and following happened in sequence-
a. Nurse filled up her own register, asked me abt whether I suffer from diabetes, high bp, etc....Then she asked me whether I use Specs/ Contact lenses etc inspite of me wearing Specs in front of her....
...I said look at my face u would get your answer she was startled and then she laughed...Then she took my eye test- just asked to read the numbers/ letters with each eye covering the other. That done she redirected my to a 2nd room.
b. Here payment was made and photo was taken, then directed to a 3rd room
c. A 2nd Nurse took my Height, Weight, and Blood sample, instructed me to give urine sample only after half an hour when I had freshened up and drunk a lot of water
d. Within the next half hour, I was called to complete the Chest X-Ray first- bcos it was taking place in a Diagnostic Center next door and they were calling people in batches. For Chest X-ray I had to wait for another 15 minutes, then they completed it in 30 seconds :
..Didn't even ask me to take off my shirt as I have experienced in previous X-Rays. Maybe the machine is more advanced
e. Provided the urine sample
f. Another half an hour wait, then I was called for BP measurement (I was nervous about this- friends my advice, stay super-calm, avoid strenuous activity, think happy thoughts, and close your eyes during measurement & if possible take an advance measurement before going there) I asked the results, the doctor refused
but the Nurse nodded once and smiled (I assume it was within the normal range bcos otherwise Doc would have asked to repeat/ provide ECG & 2D Echo)...
g. Another half an hour wait and then there was Doctor Consultation...The Dr. asked a series of questions regarding whether I had undergone any surgery, hospitalization, any major diseases like TB, whether I had a tattoo, etc...Then he asked me to strip down to my undis
and did physical examination, measured my heartbeat and I think double-checked for any surgery marks, tattoos, etc. And before leaving asked me again about TB (whether I/ any family member had any history of TB- I was slightly worried about why he asked twice)... Then said all done and wished me good luck.
h. The Reception provided me an Acknowledgment Form with my details and informed- if any additional tests r required they would call me back, else to assume that results are uploaded to CHC...
The total process took 2.5- 3 hours...Good luck to all, Hope it helps others
