Look, I don't give a nickel dime about discussing politics on an immigration forum. An applicant asked me about security checks at LVO and I replied to him accordingly. Whether you like it or not, nationals of some countries are taken seriously by CSIS and undergo thorough checks before they are found admissable as per IRPA. If this processing seems racist to someone, he can withdraw his application at any given moment. Canada won't care.

Here is my timeline:
NOC: 1111
Application sent: 19 September 2014
Application received: 24 September 2014
Fee encashed: 3 December 2014 (CC)
PER received: 12 January 2015

I totally missed your message
The first batch of NDVO PPRs arrived in earlier than I thought - in late Dec. The new wave is likely held by security clearance (if anyone from your timelines had GCMS notes, we would know for sure). Security reports might come from partner agencies in groups, and then the officers move on to complete the assessments and reach a decision. This may not follow FIFO method because of different backgrounds (for instance, an adverse is traced for a person who shares the same name with an applicant. It's a coincidence, but the processing is delayed). As a tip of the iceberg an applicant gets PPR.

On receiving Passport request for 'PR VISA' stamping (COPR), can principal applicant's passport be sent in 1st lot, and other family members's passports sent in 2nd lot. Reason - since other family members are travelling.

Is this allowed/possible. Appreciate response.

No, all immigration procedures are to be completed simultaneously by PA and dependants. This includes stamping and landing as well.

Are you applying for UK PR at the same time?

Yes and No. UK has very different system. I have to work in the UK for 5 years in my current visa, after which I can apply for PR. Nobody gets PR without working for 5 years in the UK. So technically I'm on my way to complete those 5 years which will make me eligible for UK PR. However, I have not applied for anything and if I like it in Canada, I may never apply for a UK PR!
