30. I am currently waiting for my application for permanent residence to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Can I submit an Express Entry profile?

You may submit a new Express Entry profile, but it is not necessary. However, we will not refund any processing fees paid related to your original application. Your existing application will be processed based on the rules in place at the time you applied.

If you choose to create an Express Entry profile and are invited to apply, you will be required to submit a new application for permanent residence and the associated processing fees

34. If I am in the Express Entry pool, could I be eligible for more than one program?

It is possible for you to get into the pool and be eligible for more than one immigration program. In that case, your profile would be tagged by the system to make sure it is considered for any relevant draws. If you get an Invitation to Apply (ITA), the system will tell you which immigration program you are being invited to apply to.

Processing Times
39. How will Express Entry result in faster processing times?

Under Express Entry, we will only accept applications from people we have invited to come to Canada. This will prevent the growth of backlogs by ensuring that only the candidates who are most likely to succeed economically – not simply the first to submit their application – are able to apply to immigrate to Canada.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) plans to process the majority of complete electronic applications (those that include all the required supporting documents) within six months or less.

Together, these will do away with multi-year waits for a final decision on permanent residence and result in faster processing times.

40. When does the six-month processing timeline begin and end?

The six months begins once Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) confirms that a person has submitted a complete electronic application for permanent residence through the online system. It ends when a final decision is made.

In some cases, processing can be delayed, such as when an applicant needs extra time to complete their medical assessments.

The six month processing time does not include time outside the control of CIC, for example, the time it takes for an employer to obtain an LMIA, or a potential candidate to receive a provincial/territorial nomination or to arrive in Canada and land as a permanent resident.

Note: The six month processing time is for permanent residence applications under the Express Entry system. Applications received before Express Entry will be processed based on the rules in place at the time the application was received.

I paid RPRF 21 days ago and sent the receipt via email to CPCO-Cost-recovery.CTDO-Recouvrement-frais @ cic.gc.ca
I have checked the ECAS, it did not say anything about receiving RPRF after 21 days.
Seniors, have you received any feedback from CPCO after sending RPRF?

I received my PPR but before I can help, you need to shed in more details. What is your application date? When you got your Medicals and when was your third line updated?

I am a 21st May Applicant and my VO is NDVO. Got the Medical Request on 3rd Nov and done the Medicals on 6th Nov. Got PPR on 12th Dec.

All forum members here know that the current stream will end by 31 Dec 2014. CIO meant in the link you provided that they will continue processing FSW2014 files (For those who applied before 31 Dec) in tandem with accepting new applications through Express Entry.

they why isn't it mentioned that it will end in 31st Dec 14, or when you say end, you mean they will complete processing all the 25,000 applications with visa issuing? its not logical.

I sent rprf receipt along with pcc to ndvo earlier this month.
However for my peace of mind i want to confirm from ndvo if all documents are okay.

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence. To finalize your application, we
require:
1) Passports
 Please provide passports or travel documents for yourself and each accompanying
dependant, along with a copy of this letter, to the visa office in New Delhi. Please see the VFS
Visa Application Centre (India) website for details on how to transmit your passports to the
Canadian High Commission: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/India/.
 Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military
passports.
 There must be at least two blank pages in each passport.
 We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport. You passport must be
valid for at least six months.
2) Photographs
 Please provide two (2) recent photographs along with your passports for yourself and each
accompanying dependent. For instructions on photo requirements and specifications, see:

3) Change in Circumstances
Should any of the following circumstances apply to you (or any person included in your

Till now there are only few applicants who got the PPR and the dates are - 5th, 7th, 12th and 21st May. And that too there are very few people who have got the PPR from the forum. I think you are close to getting the PPR and would expect it for you before the mid on Jan.

Hi Maximus,

It is strange how NDVO is working because only few of the applicants are getting their PPR even there are many people on the same date. Hope you should get it by end of December or max by mid of Jan.
