Hello Guys,

This is my first post in the group and it feels good to do this.

Just a quick question. I got a request for a second medical and it has been done and submitted for over 2 months. No response from CIC.

I will like to know if anyone is in same boat... I had my first medical last year(2015) August and another in September(2016).

I also know the repeat medical is due to expiry.

If anyone is in same boat or has gone past this phase please share.

Cheers

Hello people,

I have an active express entry profile. Recently different people have told me to remove my 1st degree which i did not evaluate from my profile to avoid having issues when i get an ITA. Since i stated that it was not evaluated on d CIC site, i believe i shld not have any issues.

I only evaluated my MBA which is my highest qualification.

Pls i need ur advice from people who have passed thru d same issue before on whether to remove it or not since it is d degree i have had for over 7 years which i used for d jobs dat qualify me for my work experience, my masters is only abt a year ago.

Hello brother, there should not be any issue even when u submit the two qualifications WES will always only evaluate your highest qualification, I had the same experience with WES although I applied through the FSW programme and it is a complete success story today so in my own opinion I will say no qualms.

A lot of people on the Express Entry stream have been asking me what the chances are to get a job offer and boost their application. What you need to realise is that a potential employer needs to obtain a LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessmen) becaue of you. No company will go through the LMIA process unless they're hiring you for a senior management position.

Now to move forward in getting an LMIA, it would require them to advertise the job for at least a month to prove that no Canadian could be found for the role and for this reason they are more likely to hire a Canadian or someone who is already on ground with PR or other form of leave to remain. Any employer willing to press on would have to file the LMIA application and probably wait four months for it to be processed. Considering application and advertising fees, it will likely cost them a couple of thousand dollars to go through the process. Even if they were willing to go through the process, the application would almost surely be refused since they won't be able to prove that a Canadian or a PR holder already on ground couldn't be hired for the role.

So hope this clarifies the postion and highlights the need to pursue Provincial Nomination instead. I wish you all the best in your endeavours :)
