Hi everyone! Trust we are all doing well.
My family arrived Calgary 2 days ago on Emirates airline from Abuja via Dubai-Toronto for a 6 weeks short landing.
We had the initial landing documentation at Toronto Airport and everything went smoothly.
We did not have time to go to the Service Canada office at the airport for SIN registration as we had a connecting flight to catch.
The landing process is quite straight forward. It helps to have your list of goods/list of goods to follow typed out and handy.
A declaration of over $10,000 cash is also not a problem.
My toddler's powdered milk was taken, during custom checks though, so you might not need to come in with powdered milk from Nigeria.

It shall end in praise for all of us!

Congrats on your landing. Didn't know milk is not allowed. Thanks for sharing

Hello Oga Pipis,

Very insightful post from you there sir, could you please elaborate on the bolded portion in italics? I mean the bit about joining specialized newcomer bridging program as opposed to general newcomer programs. Gracias!

Hi, I replied your PM. Just as there is a difference between secondary school and graduate school, so also there is a difference between general training and specialisation. Quite obvious, cheers :)

I sent a mail via the cse about the process of adding a new family member and i got a response with all the forms to fill and all but my concern is i was ask to send the filled forms and other documents to the central intake office in Sydney,Nova Scotia....

was thinking this should be sent to Accra,

although am still waiting for medical but have had correspondence with Accra in the past, when they requested for additional documents and pof in 2015.

is this normal procedure?

Goodday my people. I have a friend who got PCC earlier and waiting for AVO's call. But the PCC expires (3months validity) this coming week and he was told by an officer in Alagbon to scan the present one and send through email so they can use the fingerprints to process a new Certificate. The question is, should he travel to Lagos to do a fresh fingerprint or has anyone here scanned before to get a new one processed? Thankyou for your responses

It's not compulsory that all applications be processed in Accra. CIC reserves the right to conclude an application at any location of their choice. You're the one who is looking for PR visa, act as instructed :)

We recommend not depending on AVO accepting RSA to complete POF as some of their officers have rejected it to the shock of some forum members here. For peace of mind, leave out RSA and be on the safe side. There's a gold mine of information in the 1750 pages here, you'll learn far more than you can imagine if you start patiently from page one :)

Thank you pipis husband. i am actually more into the express entry platform and i recently got ITA for NBPNP. we are a family of 4 and we dont have up 5m (23,000 CAD) for the application which is what our unfortunate economy is doing to us. calculation jumped from 168 to 217 naira to a CAD. adding the RSA will help us meet up. hence the question. i am truly confused on what to do as i can't borrow money or put up any property for sale because of ITA. any advice?

My brother it is a very serious matter, we are family of 6, we now need about N7m as POF.
