Dear All,

I need to ask the house for some clarifications :

1.We have received our visas but wife is due within a week so we are not sure if KLM will allow us on board? It is very unfortunate, no airline will allow you fly with tme with the pregnancy this far gone and no govt medical centre doctor will give you a fitness to fly certificate as they will be liable should there be complications during the flight. Why didn't you leave earlier? The acceptable time will be before or on her 32 week so that they do not have complications. Some people have managed to hide it fly only to enter labour mid-flight due to the stress of the long distance travel and the airline have had to pay compensation to other passengers due to the emergency landing they had to make. Now the cost will be charged to you and you'll be possibly sued for hiding that information and endangering lives.

2. If we have the baby and later send the baby's passport to AVO, is AVO going to ask for medical for newborn cos our visa is expiring June and baby need to get the visa before that time (baby will be around 11-12 weeks that time). Yes AVO will surely ask to have the baby's medical and you will have to return all your visas so that it will be cancelled and a new one later issued if you still qualify with the new requrements in place at the time you are sending in your baby's details e.g new POF for all family memebers e.t.c. The process may or may not take that long, but you will have to be proactive with gathering documents so that the visas are issue within you previous MR period. If it takes longer, YOU WILL ALL HAVE TO REPEAT THE MR.

3.We are heading to calgary, alberta, we can do with some help on housing. already emailed 2 agents but nothing yet. What I have noticed is that they require you to call. When I was about to land I sent emails and none responded, until I placed a call to them and then I started receiving responses. But I will advise that you sort out the baby's visa first before commencing any accommodation arrangements

From what he has stated, his wife is not affected; meaning that she has her visa. It is the unborn baby that is of concern now. I strongly believe that if this family had communicated well in advance to AVO that their baby's delivery is very near, they would have delayed the issuance of the visas until their baby is born. That would have enabled them to get his/her passport, fill the necessary applications and submit the needed supporting documents, make payments , all for the baby. It would have been seamless. It is now a very dicey situation. She can even put to bed today or this week.

That is also possible I think, but the stress of sponsorship I hear is tedious and time consuming (2-3yrs) and moreover there is a line on the PPR mail which expressly states that "you should not attempt to land if there is a change in your family status", for people who's spouses become pregnant during the processing stage. the best alternative is to wait and inform AVO about the birth of the child on time, make sure that within 2 weeks he can gather his new POF for the new family size (i.e if they initially submitted POF for 2 persons now they have to submit for 3) and all their passports, including the child's passport for submission to AVO and conclude the processing it may take between 6 weeks to 6 months going by the trend of some people on this forum.
