FSW 2014 applicants from Nigeria - Let's network

Happy new year to my fellow Canadian to be.
I have a pressing issue that needs clarification if such issue has happened before and how was it tackled. A friend of mine sent his application at the airport through someone going to Canada on the 25th of december, he waited till that time because his ielt result and wes assessment were delayed he was advised to print online results to enable him meet the dead line submission date. Lo and behold the person collected the parcel but sent to CIC using canapost. The ielt result came out on the 27th and my friend took it to the airport to send as he did with the first one, he got someone also. The issue is that the second parcel got to CIC on the 31st received by Mike. When he tracked the first parcel he found out that the expected delivery date was 2nd of January when he saw that he lost hope but was surprised that the parcel was also received by Mike on that 2nd. Now his fear is, would the whole application be rejected?

This is a 50-50 chance! Since they received the IELTS result before 2015, i believe they will assume sth went wrong that delayed the main application package. Let your friend be hopeful, but if I would advice, let him prepare and submit another application for EE now. There's no harm in doing that.

I submitted with a Canadian bankdraft, after reading stories of DD and CCs charged I wish I went with that option. I guess the wait for PER begins, may God Almighty favour every one of us in Jesus name. AMEN

Amen. A Canadian bank draft is not bad, the only problem is that you will not know when it has been encashed. So the wait begins, welcome aboard. ;D ;D

From the situation on ground, i think it is pertinent to be factual here than no telling the fact. The fact is that the main application was received after 31st Dec 2014 which makes the application invalid for FSW 2014. However, the IELTS update was received on the 31st Dec 2014 but was the main application. I am of the view that the application would not be considered under FSW 2014 because the main package was received after the deadline date.

I would advise you prepare another applicationunder the Express Entry as a my candid opinion. However, if CIC deem it reasonable or considerate, which is very unlikely, to consider you for FSW 2014, good luck. But do not hope for that because the likelihood is close to Zero.

So, be wise and apply under EE.
