MPORTANT NEWS WHICH QUIETLY CIC DISPLAYED ON THEIR WEBSITE RECENTLY

=============================================================================================

So, finally CIC have confirmed on 24th of Nov, 2014 that current FSWP 2014 will end on 31st of December, 2014 and only those applications will be considered for FSWP 2104 which are received before 31st of December, 2014. Please see the following sentence that they have included recently on “Apply-Federal Skilled Workers” front page on their website:-

All eligible applications received before January 1st will be considered for processing based on current guidelines. Fees will be charged for each one.”-Can all applicants act accordingly and send their applications early enough knowing fully well that courier delivery will experience a lot of hassles during the white snow Christmas period. If you want your application to be delivered before 01/01/2015,you must target 1st to 2nd week Dec.2014 submission.Good luck people.

So, finally they have removed all the confusions. FSWP 2014 will not run till 30th of April, 2015 as it was being speculated. Now it will end on 31st Dec, 2014. So, all the applicants who have not applied should rush and send their applications as soon as possible.

Especially the end of the year holidays are starting on 19th Dec, 2014 till 2nd of Jan, 2015. So, we can say that practically the FSWP 2014 will end on 19th Dec, 2014 for receiving of applications.

Hi sosoliso, check the official Gazette for FSW 2014, http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2014/2014-04-26/html/notice-avis-eng.php

A maximum of 25 500 new complete applications submitted for the Federal Skilled Worker Class, without an offer of arranged employment, will be considered for processing for the period of May 1, 2014, to April 30, 2015, unless otherwise indicated in a future Ministerial Instruction.

There's no new Ministerial Instruction countering the one above so for now the December 31st talk is just rumor. Cheers :)

+1 for you sir...

Unfortunately, this has happened before and a Canadian draft for the fee is sometimes placed in the returned application package. Most times, the draft comes later after the package has been returned.

It shall not be our portion by the power of the Most High God :)

Not our portion in Jesus Name... Amen...

Hello kuskus,
Congrats on the updates in Ur application. Wen I was going through the spreadsheet I noticed we share the same NOC. Pls I need Ur help concerning my ECA. I av problem with the verification of my document with WES. NMC is on strike wot do I do. The deadline for submission of applications is very close. He long did urs take. Thanks.

Hi sosoliso,

Actually, my wife is the principal applicant, she's the one with that NOC. All of her post high school education was done in the United States, so all the verification was done in the States.

I'm assuming you did your studies in Nigeria. What exactly are you waiting for? Did you apply to WES already? (We got the ECA done by WES).

Please forumites (Pipis husband,et al), the new GENERIC APPLICATION FORM (IMM 0008) updated November 2014 does not have Question 4 on its form: IMMIGRATION OFFICE REQUESTED FOR THE PROCESSING OF YOUR APPLICATION.
What should be done in this case?

Don't worry.
This is truly what is now called Generic form.
CIC will send your application for further processing
to your VO please.
CIC probably removed this from the current form
because some applicants always make the mistake
of writing the wrong visa office.
Please just complete the form and validate accordingly.
Good luck
.

Pipis Husband, it has been reviewed to December 31, if you go to this link, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp you will see the highlighted notice stating:

Note: As of May 1, 2014, there is an overall cap of 25,500 for new federal skilled worker applications. This includes a cap of 500 applications from PhD students. There is no cap for applicants with a qualifying job offer.
Important:
These are the last applications we will accept under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015.
Within the 25,000 applications, we will only accept 1,000 in each priority occupation.
CIC will return any applications received on or after May 4, 2013 that do NOT include the necessary Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or do not meet the minimum language threshold requirements.
Sending more than one application does not increase your chances of being accepted for permanent residence. All eligible applications received before January 1st will be considered for processing based on current guidelines. Fees will be charged for each one.

I can just hazard a guess and assume that the omission of VO is so that they can globally work on all the FSWP 2014 applications and reduce them to the barest minimum by the middle of 2015 so that Express Entry will not have to run along with FSWP for so long.

It does not affect your application being processed, so go ahead and send right now to beat the December 31st deadline. I also think other forum members can throw more light on this but it does not affect your application in any way.
