Hello my canadian family
Please I need your advise concerning an issue.

I applied as a single guy and have had my cc debited (waiting for PER now).
Thing is I have a girlfriend who I am 100% positive I want to marry. I wonder how to go about this.

Do I
1. Get married now (registry at least) and include her in the application after my PER (If ye, how does one go about including her and informing the VO)?

or

2. Wait until my PR process is done, come back to Naija after landing in Canada, get married and then sponsor her? I worry about the long processing times. Also a good friend of mine thinks this is a better option (getting mine first and doing hers later) so that Accra Visa office do not start thinking it is a sham marriage.

Please I need your opinions and advice.

Thanks

Hi, congrats on finding a life mate. Marry her now and add her to your application before it gets to PPR stage. AVO may view it as a sham both now or later, there's no difference but it takes less processing time to get it done now. Sponsoring a spouse, my brother, you don't want the heart ache of waiting for up to 3 years to be a united couple. Go to the family sponsorship forum and read horror stories.
Get her application fee, PCC and your new POF ready. When AVO sends you their next mail, reply with the news that you are married and request further instructions. All the best.

Doctor ,you won't like the sponsoring stress and waiting time.
Please get married now and make sure you really make it legal with the issuance of registry certificate.
After completing the registry process, please raise a CSE to Accra to notify them.
They will respond back to you by telling you what needs to be done .
Happy married life in advance .
Cheers
.

Hey,
For physicians who are applying under the NOC 3111 and 3112 they would need to get their Educational credential assessment from physiciansapply.ca .
However i worry about the ability of your friend to get it all done before Dec 31st 2014. This is because the entire process takes about 4-6 months to do now due to the large volume of applications they are receiving now.

It is still worth trying however.

The process involves:

1. Opening an account with physiciansapply.ca
2. Submitting notarized copies of passport, Medical degree and submitting a Source verification request (SVR)- This SVR involves physicianapply (Medical Council of Canada) doing an initial review of the document, then sending it through ECFMG to the school which issued it to confirm it's authenticity.
3. Once the SVR is complete the applicant would pay for an ECA and have it delivered via regular mail or courier (at an extra cost).

The ECA can't be issued until the SVR process is complete. This process alone accounts for the low number of applications for both 3111 and 3112 as noticed in the caps. (11 and 24 respectively I believe as at last update).

Hope this helps.

You're right .
The minimum period that this can be accomplished is like 5 months......all things been equal.
A buddy of mine have been having issues btw ECFMG and Ife for almost 3 months now with Ife insisting they have not receive any request while ECFMG already indicated that they have sent it.
A lot of follow up needs to be done to achieve success in this.
Getting the ECA done is not the issue but getting the source verification request accomplished that matters.
There is no conclusive evidence yet that December 31st will end the current stream of FSW so he can start as soon as possible.
Even if the verification of his mbbs certificates isn't immediately useful now, there will surely be use for it later in the future.
Another doctor friend of mine who already got PER since early October actually started his evaluations before tis program started on 1st may,2014........he only had to do ECA in may which was without stress.
Cheers
.

Hello.

Congrats on the charge of your application.

I have a friend who wants to apply under NOC 3112 everything is ready save for ECA I think. His school keeps claiming not to have received it for the past 5 months or so. Its been sent twice. His school is Medilag. What's the way forward please?

Thanks!
