Only during submission stage...not at Accra level here.
If you have voluntary pension which is fully unencumbered,you can use it.
But RSA at this medical request level is not advisable.

Treasury bills are unencumbered funds, I believe you will be okay with these.

Looking at the 2013 sreadsheet, you'll notice that Accra is also giving PER/MR/PPR...I believe the rate of response for our own will likely increase once they conclude theirs. Their SS shows only 12 PERs and 26 VISA issued, so they should be though soon. I wish Accra can increase personnel, it appers it's only 2 (AB & RK) people that are treating all the applications.

I'm sure you can dig into yourself to find a way of showing the required evidence for POF for your family size.You stand at risk of not been processed if your show an evidence of POF that is lower than that of your family size.If you operate statutory RSA pension ,you can include the statement to boost your POF higher.
Once your ECA is sorted out on the you mentioned ,this means you have it on your hand already.Just make sure you send your package latest between 15th and 20th so that it can be received at CIC on or before 31st December ,2014.

What If i have the bulk of the money added just once between now and middle of the month. is there any amount of time that the money should have been there prior to application? For eg the way UK does for student visa application. Is it best to leave the entire money untouched on the account for how long?

At this submission stage ,your package will fly with deposit....no specification on time to leave the cash there.
It's only if you do such at the Accra visa office level that you may be asked to support the bulk deposit with supporting documents to show that you're the owner.....and that it's not borrowed.

We are on page 220 already...we hit 200 just a few days ago...the activity, the info, the good news are just flowing on this forum....at this rate...we'll hit 300 pages at the turn of the new year.

@ Kollins: Can we really use RSA statement for POF, since we can't readily access the fund?

I used my RSA quarterly statement of account sent by my pension fund administrator when I submitted to nova scotia. But I also used my Hubby's account to cushion it just in case it is discounted. Didn't want to take chances
