My friend's application was received at CIC on 21st December. Since then, he has not gotten PER(its possible that it went to his spam folder) nor has he gotten his application sent back.

Noc code : 2241

Let the person send an email to : FSW-Centralized_Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca providing his or her full names, date of birth, postal adddress,NOC Code and the occupation(though they can tell from the code) and the date of receipt of application in CIO. They will respond.

The person can also call + 1-613-944-4000 and must be ready to wait for like 20 minutes.

Just saw SLU on eCas: "We started processing your application on January 15, 2015." Meds were done on 10 Aug and requested documents and updates received at AVO on 13 Aug... Is PPR in the near-future??

Good afternoon Forumites,

This place has been a blessing, I have been an avid reader for over a year. I just got my MR, and I felt i needed to share with the house that has taught me soo much about this process. I submitted my application on 9th November, got PER on 9th Feb then got my MR on August 13th, a day after I had my court wedding. Please I have some burning questions and I hope the more experienced seniors can be of help

1. I have to file for my new wife as a dependent. How do I go about it?

2. Do I need to send a new POF (for 2 people) and at what point to I send the new POF, is is immediately after my MR?

3. My situation is a little complex. Our plan as per a young family is for two of us to first go to canada, allow my wife settle, then I plan to return after a couple of weeks to Nigeria to continue work, until my wife is fully settled at which point, I can then join her. Since I am the primary applicant, will this arrangement be possible.?

4. If this arrangement will be possible, does any forumite know how long I can stay in Nigeria as the principal applicant before I rejoin my wife in Canada So I dont give her issues?...

I will really appreciate responses, as I really need guidiance. Thank you.

Congrats layo12. Let me attend to number 3&4 in ur queries and let others respond to 1 and 2 .




3. Yes you can. You just need to complete your landing process when you get to Canada, then you can fly out anytime.

4. Under Canadian immigration laws, For you to still be eligible to be a PR holder, you must stay a total of 2 years out of 5 years that you become a PR holder in Canada . This two years could be a stretch or it could be segmented.

Let other seniors attend to the marriage and POF part.

Thanks a lot, but please if i stay a cumulative of 2 years out of five years that my PR is issued to ensure I dont loose my PR status, what then happens to my wife if she stays the full 4 years as a dependant, will she qualify for citizenship or at the end of the 4 year period, what will her status be?
