Hi, I am a professional banker aged 28 and working in National Bank of Pakistan as a branch Operations Officer from last five years. I hv following questions to the respected seniors and I hope u guys will help me out:

1. Am I eligible to apply under FSW newly introduced categories of 1212 (Supervisor finance, insurance clerks) or 1114 (financial officer others)?? Can anybody please tell me whether my branch banking experience falls any of the NOC categories??

2. I am married and have a daughter, but I am thinking to apply for FSW for myself only in order to save extra fee of accompanying spouse/dependent children which could be lost in case of refusal of my FSW application. Is my point of view right? and will I be able to sponsor my wife and daughter later after getting PR in Canada? any time limit or other constraints which I have to consider if I am applying for myself only?

3. my wife's sister is Canadian citizen. Will I get 5 points of close relation when I am applying for myself only and not accompanying my wife?

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of applying for FSW with spouse and children?

its my first post in this forum. Hope to receive prompt response from all of you immigration gurus. Thanks in anticipation

Saud Khan

1. Am I eligible to apply under FSW newly introduced categories of 1212 (Supervisor finance, insurance clerks) or 1114 (financial officer others)?? Can anybody please tell me whether my branch banking experience falls any of the NOC categories?? you need to read those NOC pages and consider whether the duties you perform in your position (or any position within the past 10 years) match those duties at least 50%, but preferable 70% or more. If yes, you are probably eligible to apply.

If you list your family as non-accompanying, you must explain why, and the reasoning will be viewed in the overall context of your application. The advantage of listing them as accompanying is that you can bring them with you when you immigrate, though they can wait until just before their visas expire and need not land exactly when you land. The disadvantage of listing them as non-accompanying is that you can't bring them with you and must apply to sponsor them later on, so you are basically starting from scratch. Also please note that even if you list your family as non-accompanying, you will still need to provide all the documents and information required on the document checklist--your wife's birth certificate, passport copies, background and family information, and police clearance certificates etc, and you will still need to demonstrate proof of funds sufficient for your entire family, not just yourself.

3. my wife's sister is Canadian citizen. Will I get 5 points of close relation when I am applying for myself only and not accompanying my wife? You can only get adaptability points for your spouse's family, education, experience or language ability if she is accompanying you.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of applying for FSW with spouse and children? You can bring them with you vs. you can't bring them with you.

Dear future canadian,

many thanx for detailed reply however i posted it when i just joined the forum. now i m under process of applying but i need help to fill schdule 3/economic class question 12-b..i m asking this question on different forums but no one replied satisfactorily

I m applying under NOC 1212 (supervisor, finance, insurance, office workers). I joined the bank as a Management Trainee Officer and undertook two months class room based training and four months on job training and after that i was posted to a branch where i m performing duties that fall in noc 1212.
My question is what noc shud i mention for six months experience of management trainee?? Shud i leave it blank or write "unknown or n/a"

or should i include this training period under my primary noc 1212??? (but job duties do not match with 1212)

Plz guide...i emailed hrsdc and they replied there is no NOC for "occupations under training" and they advised me to refer to cic..but how can i contact them?

I m very tensed..plz help

Forget referring to CIC, they won't help you. Include it under the NOC of the job you were training for, and note the 6 month training period on your application. You'll be fine.
