Dear Seniors: Need your help and support

I just viewed my WES report and i have been awarded with 3 years bachelor equivalency for which i will get 21 points. i recalculated my points and as per my calculation i am falling short by 1 mark.

1. Age (DOB 01/09/1978) 11 points
2. Education (Chartered accountancy - 3 years bachelor as per WES) 21 points
3. IELTS (L=7, W=7, R=6.5, S=6) 19 points
4. Work experience 15 points
5. Arranged employment in canada (No) 0 points
6. Adaptability (no relatives, only friends in canada) 0 points

in adaptability, i may apply for my spouse ielts now but by the time i will get the report (will take atleast a month), the process will probablycome to an end. is there any way that i can improve on one mark and in ilets does 6.5 and 7 band only gets 4 marks, can i claim 5 points. Further is there any possiblity to get arranged employment through consultant to claim some points.

Further even if there is no way to claim this 1 precious point, still i should consider sending the package or it will be useless? further in addition to my chartered accountancy from pakistan, i also have to qualify 1 paper of ACCA - UK. can i get some sympathy if i include this fact in my application. i cant go for this (ACCA - UK) to WES as they will again take a month to process this equivalency.

Anxiously waiting for your support and reply.

If you have less than 67 points, your application will be automatically refused. There is no point sending the application unless you have at least 67 points.

You have calculated your IELTS points correctly (you have 19 points). Your age points are correct (you have 11 points). No - I don't think the ACCA paper will get you any additional points. Yes -getting an employment offer will get you more points. However this will take many months and it will be much faster for your spouse to take IELTS.

Thanx. I also posted this matter in another thread, where few said that i may claim full points on age as i have not yet crossed the age of 36 so i may claim 12 points for age 35 (My dob: 01/09/1978). what do you say?

It depends. When is your birthday? The way you provided you birthday can be read in two completely different ways. Is your birthday January 9th or September 1st? I assumed your birthday was January 9th.

I have similar doubt. My current running age 38 but my completed age is 37. Which one will they consider. My dob is 08th Dec 1977. Pls tell how many points I will get as of today.

i believe they will base it on the date CIO received your application. Haven't you received your PER yet?

No I didnt received my per yet :'(

Oh! sorry for that. You should have received your PER by now.
Anyway, you may email CIO through CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca to ask about the status of your application
What's your NOC by the way? Cap might have been full when you applied.

Noc 2172. If the cap is filled then they should return my application as well as fees paid around 450 cad

From what I see, at present, your age should be 37 and you won't turn 38 until 8 Dec 2015. Just assuming your mom had brought you to hospital for an exam on 1 June 1978, she would have told the doctor that you were just a few months old, not 1 year old until 8 Dec 1978. ;D

Based on CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp), you will get points based on your age on the day when the Centralized Intake Office gets your application. Following this, if your application was received by CIO before 8 Dec 2014, your age should be 36 and you should get 11 points. If it was received between 8 and 31 Dec 2014, your calculated age should be 37 and you should get 10 points.

Thanks..but I just need points are taken in CIC as completed age 37 i.e 10 pts. If they calculate running age 38 then it shd be 9. So that was my doubt. So till my next bday I can that is Dec 07 2015 I can enjoy 10 points.

From what they say in the URL above, the applicant's age is defined at the time the application is received, not at the time it is processed. That means even after 07 Dec 2015, your point should remain the same. If they took into consideration the reduction in age point during the course of their evaluation, all applications with 67 points at the time of submission would become ineligible. This can't be the case. So stay calm and wait.
