I have been searching in forums also for the info below,(but couldnt find)

Since SG office processess applicants from various countries does the processing time varies?

Different cases would be:

For example
1. a Singaporean living and working here in SG - background checking is very easy, so processing time could be less

2. A SPR ( like me) living in SG for more than a decade - background checking is easy. but will there be any checks in the country where I hold my citizenship-I dont know

3. another country citizen like from vietnam, Bangladesh,Cambodia, etc-background checking could be tedious, soprocessing time could lengthen

Any one has any idea?

I am not Singaporean but me and my wife spend most of our lives after 18yo in Singapore - only ~1yr in a foreign country. All education certificates and work experience were obtained in Singapore so I hope the process of background verification may be faster if any. What about you?

BTW, all pls chk your ECAS status if there are any updations and post it if any

Hi there. Thanks for keeping this thread alive. How badly is Singapore visa office affected by the strike? Are there people getting their Visas from SVO?Especially permanent resident visas? Are there still processing them?Or is everything put on hold as is the case in other offices around the world?
My file was sent to Singapore from Canada in November 2012 and i have not heard from them since. Is this normal?

There is still no strike in Singapore Visa office.. but they have slowed down their processing speed for Visas for sure... but keep in mind may be till Medicals it seems that Singapore is very slow but after Medicals it is one of the fastest VO among all.. Best of luck to all singaporians ..:)

Thanks for your info, BTW, saw your stages progress and found that you have the visa issued in almost a year. That's really quick. If you don't mind, are you a Singaporean. Why I am asking this is, I am trying to find out if processing times vary between Singaporeans vs SPR. If you have any knowledge in this matter, Pls input ur info.

No m not living in Singapore..it never depends on whether u live in the city or not.. it depends on complexity of applications.. I know many people who are living in Singapore or country of origin with minimum travel history but still waiting for any update even after 22 months.. I got a bit large travel history not living in Singapore, file shifted to three visa offices during process, even then got stamped visa in 18 months..so depends on many factors..Best of luck to everyone in Singapore
