So sorry to hear that bro :-X

I would ask you to send a letter to chc explaining the situation and how it is not justified. Explain them with more proof and ask for an appeal.

Can you also please elaborate on the timeline for you and what were the circumstances before this with which visa office. Others might benefit.

Wish you all the best. Give it a try.

There's this thing in life which keeps us going. HOPE

Hi friends,

Its bad news for me... Today i got my refusal letter from CHC and two years ban.

They think that i had mis-represented my Docs. But each and everything was 101% genuine. Just because of silly mistakes by my colleagues i lost everything today.

Regarding their concerns i had provided them more than enough docs which clearly shows that i was genuine. Even an un edcuated person can judge that i was genuine.........#####But Still#####.

Not a Fair Decision NVDO. Tough to accept.

Can anyone suggest if i make a appeal in Federal Court how much the cost of the Lawyer ( any approximations) or any one who faced this thing before.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi everyone. I came across this forum while trying to research on required proof of landing funds. Firstly, I must say this is a very good forum and I regret not coming across it earlier.
I have a question. My wife and I have got our Canada immigration visa. So as per the proof of landing fund, I need to show 10K CAD right? Now the dilemma is, I am travelling next month and my wife will be joining be a month or two later. In such a case do both of us at the point of entry need to show 10 K CAD each, or should I show 5K CAD and my wife 5K CAD when she lands. I need to re-arrange my funds accordingly before I leave for Canada. So, how do I go about this. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

As per my knowledge you should need to prove CAD 14720$. However, in my opinion you don't need to carry this amount as they ask you about the amount so that you declare if you are carrying money more than CAD 10,000$. However, seniors say that you must carry all the funds for the safe side. As for who should carry this amount, please note that the PRINCIPAL applicant needs ti carry this amount with you whenever you enter Canada. Your wife will not require to carry this amount nor she would be asked to show.

I hope this helps.

Stay blessed.

Hi friend, first of all the POF for a family of two is $ 14,720 and not 10k... and the Principle applicant needs to show the POF at port of entry. 10k is the maximum cash you can carry without declaring. POF can be in form of bank statements, Travellers cheque etc... Remember you need to show a certain amount of POF during application, which is as per your family composition? CIC says, even if they are not joining you to canada(even if visa not applied) they still are your responsibility, and that is why this POF amount is required. If you have shown the POF, your wife wont need to show it. Quotes from CIC official website...
"Bring as much money as you can to make moving and finding a home in Canada easier. Note, however, that Canadian customs regulations require you to declare if you are bringing more than C$10,000 into Canada. If you do not tell them, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

•cash
•documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
•documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).
"

can u tell us what was the mistake made by your colleagues.

Well Owais, unanimously we stamped our approval to each other's reply on neeurgenthelp's query 8)
