Dear Experts,
I need your feedback on this issue related to my personal circumstances:
I live and work in Saudi. After I applied for FSW2013, I got a temporary residency permit for 3 years in one European country of which I have not physically lived in there because of my job in Saudi.
1) Do I have to inform LVO about this residency permit in Europe?
2) Do I have to submit a Police clearance issued from that European country for the past year although I have not lived there?
3) Do you think that LVO may transfer my file to another visa office responsible for this European country of which I have a residency permit despite the fact that I live and work in Saudi?
4) Will LVO consider getting a residency permit in Europe but not living there negatively?
I appreciate your feedback and advices on this issue.
Regards,

SMS1, what is the current status of your PR application?

There are obvious exceptions, but in general I think the PR evaluation relies a lot on what has happened up to the point of evaluation, not on what happens afterwards. Again, there are obvious exceptions (e.g. if you lose the funds, you may be denied the PR). But for example, taking work experience, I understand that once I file my application and it gets a positive eligibility review, I could quit and devote myself to writing or preaching or just begging, and it shouldn't interfere with the evaluation criteria as it concerns my work experience (one year paid full-time work on my claimed NOC within the last decade). At least as far as CIC is concerned, future employers in Canada will of course find it intriguing to say the least :D

If you secured PR status in Europe but decided not to go there, IMHO it shouldn't hurt your changes viz CIC/LVO. As you have not moved or lived there, it should also not imply any need to inform CIC about address change or job change or PCC or the like.

In general, I don't think this changes anything for you. But like islandbabe said, be prepared to give appropriate explanations -- only if they ask for them (this is my opinion, I may of course be wrong :))

Guys,

My wife will not travel with me to Canada.Does she need to provide PCC as well ? (she is mentioned as dependent but I have mentioned that she will not travel with me to Canada)
She has been staying in Bangalore for last 5 yrs(studying) though her permanent address is West Bengal.
Do she need to get PCC from Bangalore or getting a PCC from Bengal will suffice ?

Hello all,

Is anybody aware of an instance where the name on passport is different to that on the degree certificates and transcripts and this was successfully accepted by CIC? if yes... did they furnish an affidavit for that ?

PS: Parents name on degrees and passport is the same

many thanks friends :) :)

I have not come across any case in CIC, but logically, the name should be same in passport and WES report. If the WES guys send a report on the worng name, i feel it will be rejected.
I know about a case where this was a mismatch, and the visa application was for Saudi. The point was, that the name on the passport was wrong, and on the degree was right. So this guy reissued his passport on his real name and got it solved.

Hi,
Reference letter is the only mandatory document. All other documents are supporting to the mandatory documents. If you provide the supporting documents, your case will be strong, but they will not reject your file if you dont provide them.
I know first hand, that even if you provide each and every contract document, salary slips and Income Tax return document but no reference letter in the prescribed format, your file will be rejected... So go ahead and apply with the reference letter. But be prepared for BGCs...

If your sur name is in short form in the WES report and edu certificate, and in the passport it shows the expansion of the same initials it will work... For example, in WES report the full name is Arun M K and the passport showing the expansion of the same ie, Arun M...... K........ CIC will accept it without even a covering letter. but if the given name and sur name is totally different you should reissue the passport as bhaumik said.....

Hi all,

I have a query regarding WES equivalency report. A friend of mine completed his masters in UK but he is in India right now. How can he go about getting his transcripts and degree attested while still in India. Has anyone completed their WES formalities from foreign universities while being in their home country..?

Bhaumick,

I did it, having also completed a masters in the UK and then going back home. I ordered university transcripts in a sealed envelope over the internet. My university provided the option to either send them by post or hold them for me at the reception. I chose the latter. I then commissioned DHL to pick up the transcript there and deliver it to WES in Canada. It was fairly simple, and pretty quick.

I would advise him to check the university Web site for details, or contact them through other viable channels. As for DHL, everything I had to specify was doable via their Web form, I even had the option of paying via PayPal. Highly recommended.

Hope this helps!
