one query...what is the duration of visa validity...before which date u have to land in Canada.

Hello all,

Is anybody aware of an instance where the name on passport is different to that on the degree certificates and transcripts and this was successfully accepted by CIC? if yes... did they furnish an affidavit for that ?

PS: Parents name on degrees and passport is the same

Hi would like to tell you my case.

In my case my wife was main applicant and the name in passport n degree certificate was different (ex.seema nd sima). We did affidavit for that I.e both the names are of a same person.

By grace of god everything went well, got visa nd landing in July.

i am big fan of this forum as it has helped us a lot.was just randomly going through the pages to know the updates n came across your question n thought to answer it.

my application reached on 24 march and i got aor on 9th april.. i got per on 2oth april from newdelhi.. till then i havent got any update and my ecas status got only one line saying we recieved ur application.. please help me guys when iam going to get updated with second line and when iam going to get mr?.. highly appreciate for replies thankyou and please update my details in ur table or forum]

Not to worry as it will take time already ur file is moving pretty fast hopefully in June u will get ur status updated. There are many guys who are waiting for MRs and their app date was a way back in 2013 , so you only have option to wait.

Documents to carry at Port of Entry

Dear Experts

I had received PR confirmation and passport had been stamped. I will be planning to visit Canada sometime in this year to get PR formalities done. What documents should I carry with me at the port of entry (which will be Toronto)? I will be driving from US to Canada (Toronto).

The document I think I should carry are as follows: please add more if you think would be required

1) PR confirmation letters
2) Passport .
3) Bank statement to show the proof of funds
4) Do I need to carry employment related documents (current as well as prior)?
5) Do I need to carry education documents? How about just copy of the degree certificates?
6) What else???

My visa is valid till 10-Mar-15 which is 12 months from date they received my medicals.. Hope this helps and wish you the best!

Frankly, after getting my passports back I did check the same day and it still showed In Process and today I logged in again and it had a DM on it. So I guess it changed to DM in the last few days but definitely after I had my passports in my hand.
