I insist and advise that you read carefully in context of only what is specified. Please do not let your imaginations run wild.

In the interest of all friends in this forum: Please be advised that one can earn points only for relevant work experience and NOT total work experience.

And luckily, I am at home on vacation, so can use internet full blast. If I was onboard a ship, I would not use the internet this much and %100 miss this subject and not direct the others on this work experience thing... You are lucky guys..

on a different note...could you please let me know how long does it take to obtain the GCMS file? I mean CIC says it takes almost 6 weeks, but if you could let me know how long did it take for you to receive it.

It was not mentioned anywhere in the CIC website precisely how they allocate the points for work ex if it is diff nocs... In that context whatever you suggested without real experience also is an assumption....In the forum many of us believed before (even champion members)they give points based on the total work experience...

I would like to thank Mr. slowokan here for explaining his real experience with the GCMS note.... Because he clarified us with the proof...

digitalsphere. I don't remember exact amount of days, I received the GCMS notes. But roughly it was slightly over 1 month. I don't think it was 6 weeks in my experience. I can say 5 weeks at most.

Yes, that's right. I got only points from the NOC code from the list, Mechanical Engineer. I've just double checked my GCMS notes.

I've been working on tanker vessels for the last 5 years. But they counted only my mechanical engineering experience between 2003 - 2007, some of it was part time. So they counted 2 years as experience and they gave 11 points for the work experience. Otherwise, I should have got almost full points from work experience. I have almost 10 years of work experience. They gave only 2 years. That's only for my first job, which was exact mechanical engineering. They didn't count my engineering onboard tanker vessels.
