Anyones opinion regarding taking my girl child, now 11 years old along with me to canada in the first visit. Husband is not going to accompany. Or should I go first, clear the license exam, get a job and take her which might take atleast 6 months. I do not have any relatives, friends are there but cannot depend on them too much. Any one with a suggestion???

prayer,

Accompanying kids add-up to the essential tasks we have to carry out and may be cost too - arranging for their schools, drop-off/ receiving at the bus-stop, day-care if schools are half-time, taking care of their necessities at home (feeding, health etc.). And there could be more such things. Time and cost aspects can be managed if one the parents can dedicate to these tasks. As you mentioned, your spouse is not accompanying the first time, I think it will be best that you guys deliberate on this matter from the perspective that which one of you can take care of a given responsibility better in the given country. Weigh-in all such aspects and you will be able to decide better.

Prim a-faci, it looks difficult to manage alone - taking care of the kid and perform job hunt as well in a new country.

Answering my own question for the info of others who would want to go through VFS.

1. Medical Exam proof ,DD for RPRF, Letter to the High commission, PCC & passports and the consent letter are all that you need to submit to VFS.
2. You need to write the full name of the applicants and their passport # on the back of the DD in front of the VFS officer.
2. Make it a point to be there at 7:45 AM so that being early will ensure less waits.
3. If you are submitting passports under the condition that you will collect them from VFS, then the Fee for you & Spouse is INR 1200
4. The VFS officer will provide you a long acknowledgement sheet and you need to retain it for obvious reasons.

The whole process with the VFS officer will not take more than 5 ~ 7 Mins.

Good luck Everyone.

Thanks SNRAO. This is a very helpful piece of information for all who want to go with VFS.

You are welcome sinestra!

Guys I have added details to "tinyurl.com/fswp2013-add-entry" but still cannot trace myself in global or NDVO spreadsheet. Kindly let me know the process.

We (me & my wife) were waiting for DM but instead got a call from embassy on 28/02/2014 to submit PCC of my wife (principal applicant) in 30 days. We dint submit the PCC with our initial application package but even they dint mention about the pcc in MR email. As her passport is with embassy we will try to get PCC from SSP office today. Even I applied for FSW2013 under NOC 2174 but could not make it under the cap.

Sorry mate, I didn't see the questions you posted.
Remember to keep your receipt from VFS and photostat of passports handy. This is required to collect the passport.
As soon as you see Decision Made on ECAS, you can expect status change on their tracking website the very next day.https://www.visaservices.in/Canada-India-Tracking/TrackingParam.aspx It is a good decision to go with VFS.

It is recommended that you follow the link you quoted. There are mandatory fields that you need to fill in. This is useful for them. Remember, they will only respond if they find it valid enough to respond.

Thanks Sinestra. My application has exceeded the normal processing time of 10 weeks. I hope thats a valid reason for a CSE...
