Which province in Canada are you planning to land and when?

My first visit will be through the Niagara border & then i will be heading to Toronto & thereafter Brampton. So in any case, the province will be Ontario. I am planning to be there end of June' 2014. Then i will come back in a week's time to finish up all the formalities with the current employer.

Right! This is applicable if someone re-enters Canada through any of the borders by foot or by a private vehicle not by a Commercial vehicle like a plane, train, boat or bus in which case Travel Document is mandatory. Correct me if i am wrong Rawdah :D

True :D

mate his queries were answered rudely may be because he wants instant answers without doing any research whatsoever. And to top it all cheeky fella shows us attitude. His last query about WES thing was answered by me... and he posted it again thinking all will jump to spoonfeed him. This young man feels that forum will act like google for him. And now he has played the "Indian" card... Possibly the dumbest thing to do on a forum where over 50 percent of the members are Indian. Ohh this is personal now!!! ;D ;D

ps: if you are saving money by not hiring a consultant then its YOUR job to do your research + homework. Dont expect forum members to spoon feed you with answers.

I agree broda........
But all are not same........
That's what I said.....
Lastly better to leave crap behind instead of scratching our heads and getting irritated....
Good luck :)

I, myself, am planning to enter Canada through Niagara via the USA as I would be going for an official trip to the States in June. But then to complete the resignation & other formalities of serving the notice period, I would be coming back after a week or so. I would then opt for this same Travel Document by paying some INR 3000 rather then being in a soup over doing something illegal :P :D

I would tremble to think of a situation wherein i get debarred to enter Canada if the authorities somehow get to know about illegal transfer of PR card out of Canada :(
Got your answer here! I send you PM and then read this post!
Thanks mate!

A permanent resident can also legally re-enter Canada at the US/Canada border with a private/rental car without a PR card by simply showing the COPR.

@ rawadah & mankaran,

I was thinking to go by this way but while landing in USA , officer might ask me return ticket to India as I do have visitor visa for USA , what to do in this case? To enter in USA , I should have return ticket to India. which later I have to cancel if I go to canada from USA ,cancellation of return ticket will be a loss of huge money.

What's your thought on this Rawdah and mankaran?

Thank you Lord for the reply and advice. I did email them on the address mentioned almost a month ago but NO reply/response as of yet.

What is the normal PER / AOR receiving time after Fee charge/deduction. Not sure how to approach them now. I send another email to them yesterday.

you can send an email to cio-sydney-search-enquiry @ cic.gc.ca.
State your name, date of birth and NOC code.
Please note that it may take up to 4 weeks for you to get a response.

On the other hand if you have been issued a canadian visa before, you can check for your UCI which is an 8 digit number somewhere on the bottom right quadrant of the visa . You can use the UCI to check your Application Status on ECAS.

All the best

This is very useful information. Thanks for posting this. +1

I'm of the opinion that it's not illegal to send PR cards through courier or mail service outside Canada.
Just because every second person is having theirs' mailed to them outside Canada doesn't marks it legal but this, being a sensitive matter (as it involves risk of losing it & having a hard time dealing with the process), CIC would have explicitly mentioned if it was, otherwise, illegal.

Hi andrenalineforu
Thanks , means some careful person required who can handover your pr card.

I think forum members who is going to attain ciip session should get clarified more on this. Are they allowing us to question on this type of topic or they are just giving overall info.

I agree that this is a sensitive issue and CIC is silent on its legality however there are some cases who reported CIC has instructed them to resend their photo for PR Card for not meeting the specifications while they had returned to their Country of origin. Even after that it seems that they can courier their photo to their friend in Canada and comply with CIC's instruction.

But are there any cases where CIC has instructed to personally submit the photo for PR Card while the applicants have returned to their country of origin?

I can't happen to find such a case except one, maybe, in one of those links if my memory serves me right.
