Well last year my brother got his PR and he has 3 passport before current one. VO did not ask any previous passport. In case LVO they need only current Valid passport. But you are right never know what they can ask

Yes you have to renew it. do not wait for MR. Renew it now or at later stage if you renew it than your application process will be delayed.

But that is asked by Bucharest VO not NDVO. NDVO email never said anything about remaining validity of PP.

whatever VO it is, but if your passport expire before visa validity than you can not travel with the expired passport.

The minimum requirement for any visa stamping in 6 months validity. Less than 6 months validity, you won't get any visa stamped on your passport from any country. Therefore if passport is valid more than 6 months, there will be no issue other than that the PR visa will only be valid for same period as of passport expiry. But if passport is valid more than 1 year, PR visa will be stamped with a validity of 1 year from the date of medical examination. In this case, you have more time to get yourself relocate to Canada.

Traveling with expired passport is a different topic of discussion.
Visa is valid till 1 yr or until the validity of the passport, whichever comes first but not lesser than 6 months.

I am not sure ..nothing is mention with regards to passport validity, mine is although valid till 2020...

In another instance , whether it is relevant here or not I am not sure but I have US B1/b2 visa which expires after my passport expires ..
more over now you can get passport within 7 days in India i mean atleast in Hyderabad.

Seven days is through tatkal. It's still 45 - 60 days through normal process.
